Red and White Stripes

Easily my favourite all time Saints home kit was that one we had with blue shorts. Brilliant it was. I remember singing "come on you blue shorts" in the Milton back in the day. As I remember the Echo used to call us the Blue Shorties as a nickname, so famous we were for our famous blue shorts.

I have contacted radio solent and the club to start a campaign to rename the Northam End the Blue Short Stand to recognise these nationally famous blue shorts which the club is famed for and absolutely nothing to do with something a few dullards have seen on a kit website the other day.

this is getting dull, did u lot also complain that football's are brown leather/black n white hexagons?

it's not like we're playing in blue, it's red, and white.

And grey. As much grey stripes as white. Unless of course the colour of the collar is now a determining factor, in which case the first kit at St Mary's was red and white and black stripes.

WHERE does it state that ???

In the 5 year kit deal signed with Umbro, which stated we'd have a new home and away kit every season, which also expires summer 2013, thereby guaranteeing we'll have new kits next season anyway, because the current contract will have run out.

Yes, I agree that Umbro have a five year deal, but in Hypocondriacs original post, his thoughts were that we would possibly revert back to stripes next season. But, we have no way of knowing that. This season, we only knew that stripes had been ditched in favour of the Liverpool Look when the Club unveiled it.

Was the opinion of Saints Fans sought re ditching Red and White stripes ..... NO, and it wont be sought next year either, and THAT is wrong IMHO

They may very well listen to the points raised re the shorts and socks, so, who knows, next season we may get the shorts changed to white, and the socks changed to black ....... with the shirts remaining as red. Nice

We also have no way of knowing we won't revert, though the originally stated aim was to produce something different because everyone already had striped shirts, and it's not like the new kit was trumpeted as a new beginning or anything, so the odds of stripes returning are pretty good.

Shocking kit. very lower league.

There's no one in the lower leagues with a kit like it. Blackburn and Rangers have something similar in away kits but that's standard Umbro practice and they're both pretty big clubs. The problem is not the kit itself, it's applying that kit to Saints, who don't usually wear those colours in that way. It still doesn't look like us.

Anyway, anyone for a rendition of Seven Nation Army using the words "where the f*ck are the White Stripes"? It works, you know...
