Extra Bonus Loyalty Points For Man City

Makes me laugh, in the context of getting Arsenal tickets the extra 5 points makes absolutely no difference!

The categories are :

People who've gone to every match (45)

ST holders who haven't been to City (30)

Non-ST holders who have 30 pts (anyone who has been to 2 matches).

Whether ST holders get 10 or 15 pts for Arsenal makes no difference, they're still "more than 30" either way.

One of us is reading it wrong, because I make it.

People who have gone to every match, regardless of whether they are a S/T holder (45)

ST Holders & people who have gone to all games bar City (30)

Sales will be a window for 45 points first, then S/T holders, and then Non S/T holders with 30 points, in that order.

That's how it reads to me.

..and if anyone is moaning about wanting to go to football but not being able to afford it, then why haven't you saved up over summer to have the money so you can do every away game? If you wanted to go enough you could make cutbacks in other areas.

I did save all summer and my Mrs and family went without stuff as cut backs in our non essential budget was made, so that me and my nipper could have S/T''s. Believe me, I'm pushing it by going to Arsenal (fingers crossed), let alone City as well.

You're not a divorce lawyer touting for business are you?

Verbatim from the OS if it helps -

Furthermore, please note that when tickets for the trip to Arsenal go on sale, supporters with 45 loyalty points will hold priority on purchases for the game at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 15th September.

Tickets will then go on sale, initially to Season Ticket holders and then to supporters who have 30 points in their account – Season Ticket Holders and fans who attend the first two home league matches will both have 30 points, but Season Ticket Holders will retain priority.

As I said, people with families, work commitments have reasons to miss games. I'm talking about people that WANT to go to the games enough would have known costs would be much higher and could have saved to make sure they could go.

Then they only have themselves to blame. It might not just be work commitments or anything, people may just have other interests outside of football.

So the guys point that the extra 5 points make no difference to S/T holders, was, as I suspected, wrong.

First- 45 pointers whether S/T holders or not

Second-S/T holders

Third-30 points people

So S/T holders with the extra 5 points will have priority over S/T holders without them.

No but I would suggest getting rid of the missus.

Just embarrassing stood in a half empty away end for one of our biggest games in years.

I shall be there, but I'll be wearing a mask to avoid embarrassment.

Or........ Just a thought, but do you think we could get some cardboard cut-out Saints supporters made up before the game?

I think they did it in that movie, the Great Escape.

We could even use a simple wire and pulley system to animate them every time Citeh score; perhaps some kind of simplified  would be appropriate?

Reading this thread, I just really don't want to get old! I suppose I'm lucky to still be in a position where I can do every game, with the aways usually being weekends away, spending stupid amounts of money, without the missus particularly minding. For those experienced enough, when can I expect it to change? Marriage? Mortgage? Kids? Need to know which to avoid!

I'd say the mortgage (but then I've had a mortgage that was fairly insignificant). Having a wife who is also an ST holder doubles ALL of my away match day costs though, petrol between two still comes out of the same account so it's not "split", double the ticket cost, I'm going to matches I wouldn't bother with because she hasn't been there before, etc. Good fun tho.

You're missing my point. Anyone who goes to 3 matches will have priority over anyone who doesn't. It makes absolutely no difference for Arsenal whether that's 40 points (as originally stated) or 45.ST holders who haven't been to City will only have 30 - even if City was only worth 1 point that would still be priority. The "extra 5" doesn't mean anything yet, though it might for Everton.

Trust me, the loyalty scheme will not be needed for any games this season other than London ones and Reading.

I hope so, my priorities are Arsenal (basically already sorted by going to City), Sunderland, Newcastle, Wigan and Man U. In no particular order.
