So to sum it up for Arsenal away, first priority is those who have been to Man City and both home games (whether ST holder or not) then season ticket holders in general, then non-season ticket holders who have done both home games, then general sale.

Don't think it'll even get past season ticket holders personally.

Posted
Guess this means ticket sales aren't going that well then. What do we reckon out of 2,800.....1,800?

I wouldn't be surprised. Those prices are ridiculous considering its on the box.

Posted
Sales must be slow.

Will be highly embarrassing if we fail to sell out against the Champions in our first game after promotion. Would be pathetic in fact.

Bollo.xs.

£51 is criminal & it's on Sky.

If it wasn't for the fact that I want to do Arsenal I wouldn't be doing it & I'm 1 hour from Manchester.

If fans stood firm & refused to pay rip off prices then perhaps we'd be listened to but we won't & we're not.

It would be poor. Just horrifically expensive

If Arsenal was £51 it would still sell out in minutes. The cost is just a convenient excuse to hide behind as getting to Manchester actually involves a little bit of effort.

A mate of mine was advertising a coach on here for £19 return and had pretty much zero interest in it. A Sunday out at the Etihad would probably work out cheaper than an all dayer in the capital on a Saturday.

Bar Reading, Fulham and Wigan - there isn't another club in the PL that would fail to sell out this game if they were in the same position and people on here are quick to mock those 3x teams for their support.

And getting to Manchester costs a fair bit more generally not everyone knows about coaches like that and its a longer day when we can just watch on TV.

Serious question as I don't bet use trains. How much more is it to get to manchester compared to Waterloo?

My mate was running a coach for £19, the travel club is about £28 and a train from Southampton to Waterloo is over £30.

Depends if you book in advance or in a group I would have thought.

And that attitude right there is the problem. I despair of some of our fans.

It's great that you go home and away. It's great that you obviously can easily afford to do so. And your England games. For me, paying £50 to go and watch football when it is on telly is just a non starter.

From a personal point of view, I cant afford Man C and Arsenal. If I go to man C, I'll end up listening to Arsenal on the radio, whereas if I go to arsenal I'll be able to watch Man C on the TV. Added to that sat 3pm in London is easier than Sun 4pm in Manchester, it's a bit of a no brainer for me. I realise that this approcah may not qualify me as a saints Forum Superfan, but I'll live with that.

The fact that the fans that do go to City, and both home games get priority (for Arsenal) over S/T holders like me who aren't going to City, is a great step in the right direction. Much better than last years "mate of a S/T holder" being near the top of the list.

Must mean we havent sold many.

Will have no sympathy for people crawling round here for Arsenal tickets if they didnt go to Man City.

Trains was my question

If you book in advance you could do Southampton to Manchester for £30 odd. Though as I stated there are cheaper means of transport available as well and as Hypo pointed out above, he can't be bothered and unfortunately that's the attitude most of our support adopts.

Comparing apples with pears.

Sunday 4pm in Manchester live on Sky @ £51 / Saturday 3pm in Manchester not on Sky @ £28.

You take our away support far to seriously.

Well, seeing as money is not an object, could you pay for me?

Its not a problem its common sense. I'll be going to less games this year as its more expensive and away games I don't generally travel too far up north unless I make a weekend of it as its too much of a trek. I suppose I'm a terrible fan

Just embarrassing stood in a half empty away end for one of our biggest games in years.

Doing England away I mix with fans of other clubs a lot and just get a bit sick of having to put up with them having a pop at our support - which despite what people here think of us, is generally regarded as pretty poor by the vast majority of clubs.

Why? It's costing me £80 for me & my nipper before anything else. Only reason we're doing it is to guarantee Arsenal as it's the only London game I'm doing because of ££. I'll not be alone in going from 18 away games last season to around 10 this, simply because of cost.

Not everyone thinks spunking sh.itloads of ££ for a game you see for free is vital, I certainly don't.

As 1 mate said, "lot of money & a long way to go to watch us get dicked".

It seems your ego is taking a dent, of anything.

Like I said. I just will not pay £50 plus travel for a game I can see for nothing but the price of a couple of beers

Unless, to help the cause (and your ego) will ŷou pay for me?

Yeah it is. I take pride in my club and I let it wind me up when people have a pop at it.

Maybe, maybe not but as I'd already booked the train for Arsenal not prepared to take the risk & as I've got the nipper with me I don't want to sit in the home end with him.

.

Spot on.

I'm going to have to cut my away games down as well. If I dont go to the Sky games, I'll end up seeing more matches (although some will be on telly). I could go to Man C, start waving my extra 5 points around on here, and slag people who didn't go to Manchester off, but what good will that be when I'm listening to Dave Merrington on the sat of the Arsenal game. If I cant get a ticket for the Arsenal game, then so be it, but I'm taking the chance that I'll pick one up. If I dont I will have no complaints.

Same here. Embarrassing when fans of other clubs tell me our support is full of dressed up tw*ts and face painted weirdos. Middlesbrough away was awful for it. These sh*t foreign songs that Palace/Blackpool etc sing are slowly creeping in more and more too, heard it was going on at Bristol City on Tuesday night. Needs to be stamped out asap.

..and if anyone is moaning about wanting to go to football but not being able to afford it, then why haven't you saved up over summer to have the money so you can do every away game? If you wanted to go enough you could make cutbacks in other areas.

When you grow up you'll understand.

Why haven't I save up all summer,

Hmmm let me think..... Oh yeah, I'm 32 and have other commitments in life

There you go

I'm seriously skint myself and have had to do f*ck all over summer so I have enough money to be able to do every away. Obviously priorities are different for those with families etc.

That's another reason. I'm a saints fan so I don't give a toss about watching the big teams. I'm much more likely to do something like Wigan at home.

Good for you. Not everyone makes football the biggest expense in their lives though.

As I said, people with families, work commitments have reasons to miss games. I'm talking about people that WANT to go to the games enough would have known costs would be much higher and could have saved to make sure they could go.

Looks like I made the right decision to go to ensure Arsenal tickets.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/high-five-to-our-fans-306341.aspx

Makes me laugh, in the context of getting Arsenal tickets the extra 5 points makes absolutely no difference!

The categories are :

People who've gone to every match (45)

ST holders who haven't been to City (30)

Non-ST holders who have 30 pts (anyone who has been to 2 matches).

Whether ST holders get 10 or 15 pts for Arsenal makes no difference, they're still "more than 30" either way.

Posted

the fans I despair of are the geniuses who have a go at other fans for the level of support that they show, like the utter half wits who had a go at the people in the Q when we were buying Donny tickets, so that we could go to the donny game, and NOT or the pompey tix it would have entitled us to.

At £50 for a run of the mill, once a week football match, (you know, there is another one next week much the same), grounds SHOULD be half full at best.

It is a LOT of money to some people, when job security is no existent.
