Tadanari could play part in the game tonight:

Friendly match with the team today, "Udinese" of Italy. I think it is entering on a bench, and want to enjoy the game a long time if there is a chance to play ☆

May be on the bench if this awful Google translation of his blog is anything to go by

Dont think I've really heard of any of the others tbh.

That's not important, they are all foreign players, therefore they are Gods of the footballing arena and we should be in awe of their prowess.

I quite like the brazil teams line up 4-2-3-1

Davis

Clyne - fonte - jos - fox

Schneiderlin -Davis

Guly- j-rod - lallana

Lambert

Haven't liked lallana in the hole having proved what a quality left winger he can be over the last 3 seasons.

Any ideas on potential attendance tonight as its been a bit cack in an empty stadium!

I would do the same and also not convinced about Lallana in the hole or JRod on the left.

Only difference is I would swap Lambert and JRod around - that way we have more pace up top to support breaks and SRL is great at holding up the ball and playing others in.

Personally I feel this may be Rickies best position long term as he can dictate play and score goals without exposing his lack of pace.

No Hammond, De Ridder, Stephens, Seaborne and Do Prado?

Could this be the team we are playing against City next week? If so well done to James Ward-Prowse for stepping up and being in contention for a start against them.

Nope, we've replaced him with Guly on the bench

It'll be the system we have used throughout pre-season...

               K.Davis

Clyne Fonte Hooiveld Fox

            Schneiderlin

    Ward-Prowse Lallana

Puncheon Rodriguez

              Lambert

Ward-Prowse is playing because Davis is still building up fitness and Cork is injured. Of course he is doing extremely well to put himself in contention, but I can't see him starting games if Davis was fully fit.

I really hope that's not the team v City.

Why? In terms of what we currently have, today's side is Adkins 1st choice and will use the system I posted in #21. The only difference would be Davis instead of Ward-Prowse, Guly Do Prado maybe instead of Puncheon and any new signings.

No De Ridder?

What's the bad news?

I much prefer the 4-2-3-1 system personally and I think it suits our players much better. Davis and Morgan holding in midfield, Puncheon/Guly, Lambert and Lallana in front of them and Rodriguez leading the line.

Morgan - Davis

Guly - Lambert - Lallana

Rodriguez

The 4-3-3- system doesn't suit Lallana playing deep in the middle, or Rodriguez wide left IMO.

The 4-3-3 can quickly switch to a 4-2-3-1. All it takes is for Schneiderlin and Lallana to push further forwards. They have even done that during this pre-season. Adkins likes to make a number of quick switches during games and the midfield and forwards often rotate.

Although Rodriguez isn't a natural wide man they will be looking for him and Puncheon to cut inside on their stronger foot and Fox and Clyne to provide the width with Schneiderlin dropping deep to cover them.

The guy is class. Not a surprise. Still think we can get an equaliser and turn this friendly around. I wouldn't mind us getting beaten badly in a friendly if it means we can push forward any bids for a CB.

solentsport: Di Natale scores a 25 yard worldy to give Udinese a 1-0 lead after 11mins at #saintsfc . Attendance at St Mary's 3744

Says it all about the amount of pre season home games and the prices they've been. Sort it out next season.

Does it? Add up all the attendances from Ajax, Udinese, Wolves and Arsenal/Anderlecht and it is quite a healthy number for pre-season home attendances. Does it matter it is over a number of games, as it is very rare for Saints to have more than one pre-season friendly and most people won't want to goto more than one?

Davis in and any new signings. Exactly. You've answered your own question.

Promising in a way. Shows they're not carving us open and getting in behind.
