I'm guessing he means this tweet:

crucialguy: @reluctantnicko what's going on at saints? rumours that there's no money, Adkins has asked to leave due to differences..very worried.....

To which Nixon replied:

reluctantnicko: @crucialguy Top man on jollies. Did say might be snags back in May ...

People need to chill, it's the same every year.

How many have WHU and Reading signed so far....

Reading have pretty much completed their signings for the summer, they purposefully got it all done early. They signed 8 players.

West Ham have secured contracts for 7 players who are either new signings or confirmed from previous loans.

I'm backing NA to be first prem manager sacked, hope I lose but got a gut feeling NC wants a bigger name in. First 10 games will be critical for Nigel, would have thought at least one new centre back would have been in place by now as we will be done badly by some of the pace of the top teams.

Agree with all of that. Just got one of those 'turmoil on the horizon' feelings. Hope I'm wrong.

What about if we lose every one of our first, say 10 games?

He'd be gone most likely but I wouldn't necessarily say that would be the right thing to do should that happen. It depends on the manner of the defeats and whether the players looked like they were still giving it everything.

Ultimately it will be our quality which may see us struggle not Adkins IMO

As I stated just a few week ago,I had fairly comprehensive conversations with a particular Reading player who's opening line was that Adkins was walking a tightrope.

Of course this was dismissed by many on here.

however he was adamant about this.

Perhaps there was some truth in what he was saying.

perhaps not,but i did not dismiss it so easily as some.

What makes you think a Reading player has intimate knowledge of the relationship between Cortese and Adkins?

We just need to write those games off, if we get a point it's a result and a massive bonus. If the top teams turn up we get spanked simple as that. No shame in that, city did it to United last season, United did it to Arsenal. It games against the Wigans, Norwiches, Swanseas, Stokes and WBAs that will determine our season.

this place is going to be grim reading at times....we are so used to winning nearly every week..

we are going to be battered in some games...lose at home to a WBA...people will be all over this place saying its all over....etc etc

Is it not possible then ? Why not?you are in the dispel any possibility that there could be a rift camp I see.

could he not know via a third party?

This illustrates perfectly what is wrong with this forum nowadays.

Not sure about anyone else but I'm entirely realistic about our chances next season. I remember when we were last in the prem with the great escape. I actually think expectations will be a lot lower on here. It was only because we were in a poxy league like league one that we expected to win most weeks and got annoyed. When we play the big teams I expect most people will think we will lose.

That doesn't mean the gnashing and wailing won't strike up on cue after our first 3, 4 or 5 games where, lets face it, we'd be doing amazingly well not to be bottom of the table given our fixture list.

Actually it probably won't take that long.

Which Reading player was it that said this to you?

People dismiss it from idiots like you because from day one you've been on Adkins back. You're just waiting for things to go wrong for him.

Please, can the season start already??? Crap like this only pops up when people have nothing else to speak about and want to provoke a bit of attention.

Once we've got to September, we will have our CB's and wingers, Adkins will still be our manager and we'd have made an encouraging start. Stuff like this will then drift off into the gutter as it should.

We are now in the Premier League

Cortese wants "Big" signings

Part of the attraction for "Big" signings, is a "Big" Manager

Adkins is not classed as a "Big" Manager

We therefore cannot attract "Big" signings

Therefore, to attract "Big" signings, Cortese may be looking to sign a "Big" profile Manager

don't agree with this, too superficial.

how many prem sides have big name managers? not many. of those who do, even were big names when appointed.

who would you have expected us to have been able to sign, as newly promoted, recent league 1 side, if we had a big name?

NC tried big name manager, he didn't like it.

think signings so far show (again as newly promoted, recent league 1) that NA can attract players.

what is big name anyway?!

I think that's a good bet. We clearly have a trigger happy chairman who knows his own mind - to put it mildly. A couple of **** results and he'll loose his rag and NA will be on his way - very sad.

No. I just asked you a question that is all. And you haven't been able to justify an answer I notice.

I'm not saying it's not the case I'm asking you why you believe this player should know such information.

I don't mind listening to rumours but that is all they are. Saints fc is as tight as a ducks arse as far as information is concerned and long may that continue. It is a very professional way of running a club. The evidence suggests far more stability than most people are alluding to

1 NC is a tough negotiator and is committed to not wasting money but investing wisely where it matters.
