The Kraken Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 The key question is what drinks do they serve?!?! Presumably the same over-priced slop they sell inside the stadium.
action man Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 it was £38 for a family membership 2 years ago, when they put it up to £60(i think) last year i decided not to re-new so now its gone up to £100,what a joke.no players in no more, no pre-match compare and expensive watered down beer. no thanks
ladysaint Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 When I walked past on Saturday the place was gutted so they are obviously spending money doing the place up, not sure £45 membership will make me join up again though.
pingwing Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 Presumably the same over-priced slop they sell inside the stadium. Then it couldn't possibly worth 45 quid unless we get pre and post match strippers.
Huffton Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 Pub, free to get in, decent beer, short walk to ground Dell bar, £85 to get in, **** beer, shorter walk to ground. Bit of a no brainer for me
Toomer Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 Could do with something like the old supporters club at The Dell had some great nights in there, live bands and comedians on Friday and Saturday nights and just for pingwing there were stripers, top less go go dancers Sunday lunch time. JackanorySFC Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 Anyone know if they have barcode scanners to get in there? If not get a kids membership for a score that'll get you past the doorman (just flash it at them as you walk in, if they question you say you picked up your nippers by mistake) and smash as much booze down you as possible comfortable in the knowledge you've saved £25 over the season... maybe put it to one side for parking/ ticket tax fees that will no doubt accumulate therefore making them "free". Here to help.

Agreed The Club phoned me to ask if I was renewing our membership at Dell Bar , told them no too expensive

buctootim Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 (edited) Its not so much the price imo, its just there isnt much attraction to do it. If there was a great atmosphere, some stuff going on and good beer I would. Atm it doesnt compare well with a good pub (as somebody above posted). The club would be better off making it free in the first year, getting the offer properly sorted out, making it popular - and then introduce a charge later. They've been charging membership for some time now; its being refurbished, its not a new thing.

I knw but my point is that (at least the times Ive been there) its been less than half full and with all the atmoshpere of a barn. Make it free, improve the beer and the increased popularity would probably generate more cash long term.
The9 Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 The key question is what drinks do they serve?!?! Last year, when I went in there before the Liebherr Cup match, it was the same stuff as in the concourse, plus they had a few other drinks in there too, including Worthington branded as Worthington, alongside "Saints Ale" - which numerous people have claimed is exactly the same thing. Saint Fan CaM Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 I've just shelled out extra money for a 'premium' seat in the Kingsland - I think all those like me should be given access to the bar for free...afterall, I'm spending more money on booze and food if I go in there, so why should I pay another £45 for that privelage? As someone else has said, there seems little to attract me in there - no entertainment, rubbish drink and probably poor service to boot. And another thing - a football club bar should not allow children in...that's just not right IMO.
krissyboy31 Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 It's a pretty soulless place IMO, maybe because it was a bit of an afterthought when the stadium was built. The refurb may make a difference but because of lack of size, will never match up to the original Dell Social Club.

I'd guess not, I remember it being a moderately small bar.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 8 August, 2012 Share Posted 8 August, 2012 I used to be a member when it first opened and was a member until two years ago.At first it was a good place to go and had a reasonable atmosphere, but recently it went downhill with inflated prices for beer and membership. Now the club are trying to sell family memberships at £100,they are totally delulded.
West End Saint Posted 9 August, 2012 Share Posted 9 August, 2012 I have been a member for the last 4 years & it is true that it has gone down hill during that time there was a rumor that they were going to close it down all together which would have been a shame as it is handy. I have renewed & hope that things improve other than last season the food was always very good with limited numbers it is relatively easy to get served & I can now go in at halftime which will hopefully mean it will be easier to get a halftime pint. We will see if I have wasted my money fingers crossed it has improved on last season
rooney Posted 9 August, 2012 Share Posted 9 August, 2012 And to think we used to get into the Club at the Dell free, simply by showing our London Saints Memership Cards.
