beatlesaint Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Would be an amazing signing for Bournemouth TBH. He can do better. Yeah, dont you only tend to train with another team when you are out of contract ? I mean he is for sale, its not a trial with another club is it ? Crazy Diamond Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Would be disappointed if he went there. Can do a job in the Championship and has more going for him than that club as a whole.
sfc4prem Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Way better than Bournemouth. Could do a job for a top League One team or lower Championship team easily.

S-Clarke Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Would imagine we've given him permission to train whilst we thrash out a deal with Bournemouth. Expect it's only a loan.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Tubbs & Barnard would be a great front line for AFCB
Saint Garrett Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Would be disappointed for him if he was to go there, is way above them. Could easily do a job for a half decent NPC club.

paulwantsapint Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 If its true might be worth £5 on a opening day hatrick Afcb not worst club for barney if he doesn't want to move house
The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 I'm not sure he's good enough for top Championship level; though he has proved he's very good at League 1. If he's settled here then Bournemouth is a decent enough move, especially so as they seem to have a bit of cash now. Good luck to him.
View From The Top Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 It would be a good move for him & if he does move there I'll be having a few ££ on him scoring against the skates.
Elmore Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Palace are looking for a striker - he would do an excellent job for them if he could stay fit. Wouldn't like to see him go to bompey.
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 He deserves better then a move to the next South Coast club to enter financial meltdown. Nothing against Bournemouth but he should be aiming higher. Then again, if he is settled in the area it would make a certain degree of sense. Bailey Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 With respect to Bournemouth, he's better than where they are currently. Barnard is good enough to be playing Championship football, although he may well fancy being a key player for a side chasing promotion in League One. Wherever he goes next, I'll wish him well as he's been a great servant to Saints during his time here.
Ewell Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 League 1 is his level as he is unproven in the Championship so I cannot see many Championship teams being that interested. A good finisher who works hard but does he have anything that special which would make you think he would score regularly at a higher level, not for me. ericb Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Would be a really good move for him i think, he's probably at best a top of league one/bottom of championship striker and Bournemouth are on the up at the moment. Would be nice to see him get them promoted too, since after all the shi.t they've been through recently they deserve some success. Plus it's great to see other south coast sides (with the exception of the cheating skate cun.ts) do well.
Saint_Ash Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 He never played last season, if no championship team comes in for him he won't really have a choice, league one or nothing.

sandwichsaint Posted 5 August, 2012 Share Posted 5 August, 2012 Good move for him, he hasn't made it a proper club due to injuries and issues. He needs to get his career back on track and one good season at the red few might get him back on track. Move on, we can do better.

OldNick Posted 6 August, 2012 Share Posted 6 August, 2012 his level IMO. L1 player. Gives his all but not quick enough for the higher league. he will do well there and we may get a fee back to re-invest
krissyboy31 Posted 6 August, 2012 Share Posted 6 August, 2012 Unfair to say he's unproven at Championship level, SRL was up until last season. I reckon he could do better than Bournemouth TBH and if a team that makes loads of chances like Peterborough or Huddersfield come in for him, he would do a great job for them. Professor Posted 6 August, 2012 Share Posted 6 August, 2012 Remember that AFCB were a strong team on promotion to L1 in 2010 and finished in a play-off spot in 2010/11 only 4 places below Saints when we finished 2nd to Brighton. Lee Barnard would be a good addition for them and it would be great to see them in the Championship.

It's not unfair to say he is unproven at Championship level. He is unproven at that level, he got no games last year so Champ managers have little to go on. He is a proven goalscorer though, but not every striker make the jump up like Lambert did.
Pat from Poole Posted 6 August, 2012 Share Posted 6 August, 2012 Didn't their pis shead chairman have to get a huge bank loan recently to fund this seasons wages? The loan is supposedly to fund new signings. It is a bit odd; the other shareholder (the Russian chap) is seriously minted, so not sure why they needed the loan. Dalek2003 Posted 7 August, 2012 Share Posted 7 August, 2012 Good move to a good little club. Despite some knobs a few years ago, i like Boscombe and would love to see their fans rewarded with promotion.
fish fingers Posted 7 August, 2012 Share Posted 7 August, 2012 Didn't their pis shead chairman have to get a huge bank loan recently to fund this seasons wages? It all seems a bit shady to me. The 6m loan comes from a company that the Russian dude is involved with. Something odd about their new stadium sponsor too. I fully expect them to get the matchball of administrations within the next 2 years.

Crazy Diamond Posted 7 August, 2012 Share Posted 7 August, 2012 The bucket rattlers (copyright Crab Lungs industries) are going to be bitten on the arse by this new found 'wealth'. Just sit back and watch it unfold. Far cry from when I worked there, administration, tax bill, transfer embargo. They'll probably end up back there though. Despite some knobs a few years ago, i like Boscombe and would love to see their fans rewarded with promotion. Yep. I like Bournemouth and always hope they do well. Remember the PA announcement at SMS a few years ago announcing AFCB had been promoted and our fans applauding. Shame their chairman and a small number of their fans are tossers though.
