Puncheon has had a great pre season and got himself fit. If we are to play 4 3 3 theres no one else better than him to play on the right of the offensive 3 in my opinion . Him and clyne seem to gel quite well together.

I'm no expert on contracts, but if it was quite that simple I imagine the Puncheon situation might have been resolved by now, one way or the other.

Going by yesterday's performance he seems to fit well with Clyne. He certainly seems a more natural fit there than Guly, who may well compete with Lallana for the attacking midfield role. I'd prefer for us to sign someone like Jarvis as I don't think Puncheon is quite good enough as a regular starting option, but he's definitely a great option to have in the squad.

If we're playing a narrow 3 in midfield, that's perfectly in line with Puncheon's preferred and most successful position (which he proved at Millwall).

 

He also has recent Prem experience and could be useful in the first few games, which is "traditionally" when he's at his best anyway.
