eurosaint Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 Turning Japanese..., I think we're turning Japanese...., We're really turning Japanese...., We are Southampton.... Singalong now folks.......
doddisalegend Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 A centre Back -excellent just another CB and a LB to go. Looks like more hot Japanese birds will be hanging out at SMS:D
adrian lord Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 Check out this Sunderland thread: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=726957 ****s. I only wish our posters were as reasoned and well informed as their forum - OP excepted, of course.
Gordon Mockles Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 I hope he's good. Clearly an exponent for our Asian market - keeping Tadanari happy, boosting shirt sales & marketing in the Far East & hopefully doing some decent defending too. Good luck Yoshi. Welcome!!
Under Weststand Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 Good to see we've finally got a CB in. He looks a decent buy hope he settles in quickly, will be helped having Chung here already. Things starting to come together now.
Red and White Army Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 Great news. A solid player and will **** out the racist idiot The Charming Man too. Win win!
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 30 August, 2012 Posted 30 August, 2012 I only wish our posters were as reasoned and well informed as their forum - OP excepted, of course. Staggered at that board. As you said, on the whole they seem extremely well informed and reasonable.
Under Weststand Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Check out this Sunderland thread: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=726957 ****s. Seem like decent well informed bunch to me taking the WUM OP out of the equation! I think on the whole most prem fans live in a blinkered world & have no concept of who owns us & how we are now run as a club. Or anyone else outside the fantasy world of premier league!
Fan The Flames Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 I only wish our posters were as reasoned and well informed as their forum - OP excepted, of course. Indeed refreshing compared to the tribe of WUMs on here.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. ****E!
Bakovnetski Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Turning Japanese..., I think we're turning Japanese...., We're really turning Japanese...., We are Southampton.... Singalong now folks....... Are we admitting we're all w*nkers?
davefizzy14 Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Really Happy with this, welcome onboard Yoshi
Wes Tender Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Seem like decent well informed bunch to me taking the WUM OP out of the equation! I think on the whole most prem fans live in a blinkered world & have no concept of who owns us & how we are now run as a club. Or anyone else outside the fantasy world of premier league! I particularly liked this opinion:- They've actually signed; nathaniel clyne - many predicted he'd be signing for an established prem club when he finally moved from Palace Steven Davies - a player who is what I'd call a SAFC/villa/Fulham standard player so good move by Saints Mayuka - top scorer at the African cup of nations for tournament winners Zambia Yoshida - Japan international centre back Admittedly jay Rodriguez was a silly fee but I'm sure that was just Southampton making an earlier signal of intent as it was done right at the start of the window. They've also had a fee agreed for gaston Ramirez a player some of the best clubs in the world were after and very nearly signed buttner but the deal fell through who ended up at man united. Does that sound like a team who's not trying to stay up and isn't ambitious. Give your head a shake OP you've had a mare! I've found that often the footy fans in the North East are a very well informed bunch. The only thing that colours the judgement of their opinions on the subject of SFC, is that they can't seem to change their opinion on Kelvin Davis and the defence, although Davis has proved since he left them to be considered to be at least capable, if not spectacular. And our defensive shortcomings are in the process of being addressed now. It remains to be seen whether our defence is still weak and only time will tell. But it could be that a lot of pressure is removed from our defence by our attack and midfield improvements.
eurosaint Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Are we admitting we're all w*nkers? Yeah, come and join the tossfest !!

Toadhall Saint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I got the lowdown from Eurosport's Japanese football expert here:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-qm Thanks GWC - interesting he started as a defensive mid fielder - suggests to me that he can do more than just defend so fits the mould SFC are looking for. On the face of it a very good signing.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I got the lowdown from Eurosport's Japanese football expert here:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-qm Nice one, appreciate the way you get views on us from opposing fans/journo's. If he started out as DM then you can imagine him to be very composed in the ball.
Bearsy Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Is this dude a right sidey or a left sidey? Is he one the one that watches the runner or one that attacks the ball? In short who is more worried... Fontes or Hooiooiovelds?

Toadhall Saint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 From what I've read and heard, he's more of an upgrade to Fonte. Nice on the ball but most importantly....pacey! Dare I hope for a Hansen type of CB (who in his day was one of the best IMHO)?
positivepete Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I got the lowdown from Eurosport's Japanese football expert here:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-qm Thanks GWC. That article explains why he was missing from the recent World Cup qualifier me and a few of the Brisbane Saints crowd went to see.
sotonjoe Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Small? Lightweight? Anyone got the stats to throw me off the racial stereotyping?

Lets B Avenue Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Is he more Hansen, dosen't like kids, than Lawrenson, terrible decision maker?
Badger Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Is he more Hansen, dosen't like kids, than Lawrenson, terrible decision maker? Great players of such contrast : Hansen - always wrestling Danny Wallace to the ground Lawrenson - reaching to catch the through ball going over his head as one of our pacey forwards that day - Wallace or possibly Austin Hayes - were running on to it. He even faked surprise and indignation when the ref gave the free kick. Should have been off, but may have escaped with just a booking.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Just read that he's back in Japan for some international games. Brilliant, our defence looks decidedly dodgy and we sign a player who is away on international duty. :-/
wild-saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Just read that he's back in Japan for some international games. Brilliant, our defence looks decidedly dodgy and we sign a player who is away on international duty. :-/ maybe we should of a signed a player who isnt good enough to get in thier international side just so he can train for the next two weeks with the rest of our squad who are also not good enough eh?
Faz Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Just read that he's back in Japan for some international games. Brilliant, our defence looks decidedly dodgy and we sign a player who is away on international duty. :-/ Good God.........
M271 Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Just read that he's back in Japan for some international games. Brilliant, our defence looks decidedly dodgy and we sign a player who is away on international duty. :-/ Just seen on Saints Player Adkins (Ramirez) interview from yesterday, "7 or 8 will be away on International duty and will get back together a few days before the Arsenal game". I guess it comes with the territory of being in higher leagues and better players. This will bring fresh challenges to Adkins and the backroom team when coaching the squad and preparing for matches.
ottery st mary Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 just read that he's back in japan for some international games. Brilliant, our defence looks decidedly dodgy and we sign a player who is away on international duty. :-/ This is truly scandalous:rolleyes: Wait til the Saints supporters get to hear about it:p You are good fun ..
