Colinjb Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 Forgot about Nakata - he was decent when he was at Parma. The real test for Park will be this season when he won't be carried by the rest of his team. And at Roma, where he won the Scudetto. Park will be interesting this season but he always looked a real livewire.
Matthew Le God Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 The Olympic side, not the full international team. A subtle but important difference. He still has 17 caps and 2 goals for the full international side at the age of 23.

KelvinsRightGlove Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 I don't get this uber-fan ********. Surely we want people to support our club? That's kind of what 'growing' means, no? People moan about empty seats, yet they moan about new fans. Can't have it both ways really. Happy for anyone to come along and cheers on the Saints, especially if they are paying for tickets/shirts/scarves etc. All helps towards our next Japanese international signing. Oh also, welcome aboard Yoshi - yes, that is how I will refer to him forever henceforth, deal with it TSWF.
Katalinic Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 Just a suggestion but maybe we could wait until we've seen him play before we pass judgement - mental idea I know.
This Charming Man Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 4 Premier Leagues 1 Champions League etc etc Plus plenty of other Asian players in top European leagues. In any case it is quite a generalisation to right off a player based on his nationality. Park was carried by Man Utd. He was deployed to run around a lot in big games when Man Utd knew they wouldn't have all the possession like normal. Interesting to see how he fares this season. Where have I written him off because of his nationality? I was merely asking a question and igniting some debate.
Colinjb Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 Thx. Colin... I stand corrected ....so who is their "proper" captain, then? Makoto Hasebe, a wolfsburg midfielder apparently. Thankyou Wikipedia....
toe_punt Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 I can just see you in front of your computer, willie in your left hand, empty pizza boxes all around and smudges on your milk bottle bottomed glasses. Internet cool guy............... Saw them going into the toilets at half time, ha. We should have our own segregated Japanese end within our away ends to cater for them. They should get their own allocation in our end and have stewards surrounding them so we can abuse them in safety.
