What was it you did at the hospital again?

I was the representative for young people on the board of governors. A lot of hospital trusts have a young person on the board of governors these days, as well as other appointed governors like representing disabled people and so on in addition to elected governors.

Disappointed that you were not performing in a Dougie Howser MD-type role.

Did you tell them how it was Andy?

You were my favourite poster in the old days. You're still good now of course. Mark loves Amy was a classic thread.

Cheers hypo, appreciated... I must have changed a bit since then, I assume? Is it my older-aged cynicism?

There were some great days back on the old forum... and great characters. Unfortunately, many of them are not here in the forums current incarnation now. It was funnier, less tetchy and most importantly, less mongy. You only have to look at the conversational pieces on the main board now to realise that it's not what it once was.

They banned a lot of people with personality. People like saintpaulkiptanui was quite funny but got banned. even SRS used to be good for taking the p*ss out of and he did provoke debateand discussion which is the whole point of a forum. it makes me laugh on the main board when people moan threads are being ruined and they just come on for 10 minutes a day for the latest news. Well correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the whole point of a forum to discuss news and topics? If you just want news you can get that from the official site and sky sports.

This is true. I do see, more often than not, what can only be termed as petty, pointless discussions. For some reason, the smallest inconvenience is whipped up into the mother of all sh1tstorms by people like....;

Good point about saintkip, too. I wonder where that mentalist has disappeared to...

Amygate was easily one of the funniest things the internet has ever seen.

I had the emails on my old computer, but couldn't find them when I looked before chucking it away. I remember sending an email out to Keith when the site was taken down asking what was going on and getting an aggressive response back from his wife

Poor bastard though.

And I agree, S4E was great. Back in those days I was known as Niemi. Buzzin' Orn and I were the resident pre-pubescents of the board.

I remember it well. You weren't half as annoying as buzzin though. Never understood how you can support both teams. Wasn't he Indian? I think I saw a picture once.

That's very gracious of you. Yes, he is of the asian persuasion. Nice bloke by all accounts - still posts on here as Ludwig.

Interesting I didn't realise he was still around. Any idea hat happened to Ascoli? Didn't he get busted for some hooligan thing with lads from Charlton?

I seem to remember there being a point when Saints put posters on S4E and got caught out.

Understandable that you can't really remember what happened as you were twelve at the time. Lowe hired a PR company and they took it upon themselves to make a number of posts supporting Lowe. Steve (I believe) traced their IP to their offices in London and the whole thing was exposed. Was hilarious at the time and I suppose everyone was taking the internet a little too seriously!

Can't really remember tbh mate, it was nearly 8 years ago! Haha.

That does ring a bell though, was he involved in the big scrap at The Valley a while back?

Wasn't that just the Farmer, or whoever the admin was posting to himself and then replying to his own threads. I seem to remember it had a few people on it for a few hours though inbetween S4E going down and TSF going up.

It wasn't bad except Tristan was a bit of a nutter and a little schizophrenic. I heard that someone got the admin password and then locked the farmer out of the forum because he got internet addiction and was spending his whole life online (seriously.)

Indeed, I do remember that ;) Memory isn't so bad yet. I remember it was quite funny, but also quite the scandal at the time!

And far too seriously. Can you imagine Cortese wasting his time on us morons?

In fairness though, you can't really blame Lowe. I think they did it without his knowledge. Pretty amusing though because at the time it was sooo obvious.

They had some daft c unt who ended up talking to himself

what a sad forum that was, boo hoo keith banned me waaaaah

Just like me on the SRS-started Loyal Saints forum. :-D http://loyalsaints.hotblack.myfreeforum.org/index.php It's been lying derelict for ages now though!

Another breakaway forum was Plastic Saints. http://plasticsaints.myfreeforum.org/index.php which died as recently as this year.

I liked S4E but it was very clicky. I used to love Banter though, I spent more time on there than the main Southampton forum. It's only on SWF that I spend more time on the Saints board - although this summer it's been hell. I like the Lounge, some good threads on there from time to time, but somebody needs to reinvigorate The Muppet Show.

During the glory days on S4E the Banter forum was busier than the main forum.
