That's why you shouldn't use IE! It's a bulky horrible piece of crap of a browser that you have to hack to make it do anything.

This is designers all over...

"99% of the world uses wheels which are round, but square is just so aesthetically pleasing and ideal for that one tiny cobbled street in the middle of Uzbekhistan that a few designers use..."

Make it work in IE9 and in Chrome it will just look better... ;)

Well, lets see how it performs before we slate it...

Well I now get a 'log-in error' message every time I attempt access my (previously perfectly working account) and the 'reset password' option is about as effective as a chocolate teapot too. This leaves me with no apparent option but to phone the ticket office - at my expense of course.

So is it too early to engage in a bit of slating ......

I could log on the old site to buy tickets, now I can't log on with my details. Tryed the new password route as suggested and I am still waiting for a new password some 8 hours later.

Check your junk or spam folders. The email might have gone in them. The reset emails should arrive literally within seconds.

Yeah, and if the first one doesn't work the second one always does. It's got nothing to do with the redesign either, it was doing that with the old-style ticket site years ago, and still doing it earlier this week before the rest of the site was redesigned.

My password seemed foobar also, but the reset option worked fine. What problem did you get with it?

It doesn't work is the problem you get with it. You can cut and paste it (checking there are no spaces being pasted) into the password field and it just doesn't work, giving you the same error message as when you tried your previously working password before finding it no longer worked and trying to reset it. Then you can do the same thing with another changed password and it works fine. It's ridiculous, and then if you change your password as directed, THAT doesn't work the next time you try to log in anyway.

So you're basically better off just constantly resetting it.

Udinese is a 7pm ko from everything I've seen. Including the OS just now.

The new password appears in my email in-box almost immediately - but when applied to the account the previous 'log-in error' message makes a (v unwelcome) reappearance. Repeat the process - same frustrating result again.

An unworkable site and a unacceptably poor effort from the club methinks. Sort it out SFC !

So when you copy and paste the new password into the login in page it still tells you it is invalid? It worked perfectly for me (using safari on iPad). Try a different browser just to test it again - especially if you are using inter**** explorer

It's done that for me, both worked and not worked with a new password, it's entirely arbitrary - I've only ever used one email address on the account and it's always been the same customer number I've entered.

It could be that the account is registered to a completely different email address, a mate of mine tested the system yesterday by entering a nonsense email for the new password and the system didn't flag up that it wasn't the email address for that account number...

Thanks.

Yes new password applied via cut and paste to avoid any chance of copying error. I do use IE so will try another web browser later, but surely this site should work with all browsers surely ?

The ticketing login system works equally poorly with all browsers in my experience, and again, it's nothing to do with the site redesign.

Double-check you're not pasting a space before or after the password though.

My eyesight which used to be very sharp isn't as good as it used to be, and I find that the white type on black background on the new OS hurts the eyes after a bit. So I'm not so keen.

I tried to look up coming fixtures and only found results and the advert for the Wolves match.

So two noes from me.

They are on there, you have to click the drop down when you roll over the word "Fixtures", not just click on the Fixtures headline itself.

Although a bit poor, did it compound the problem by actually sending out the password reset email? I guess if he put a nonsense address in you'll never know.

Thanks, found that. But the list is not complete. Can't find any reference to the Udinese match. When is it, anyone?

The new OS is an incoherent mess.

Nope not at all, IE is technically behind everything else, even the latest version are at a guess about two years out of date (and i've worked with microsoft promoting IE9 and know this). Part of the reason it's slow and clunky in IE is that the browser quite simply can't handle modern websites and a lot of what is done for them is a hack by necessity.

"making it work in chrome" really means nothing, since chrome and safari are fundamentally built from the same open source platforms that silently update and improve, the same as firefox, meaning that new technologies can be implemented faster and more seamlessly.

The truth is we should be educating people not to use out of date technology when there's better alternatives for free, that mean people can fully take advantage of the web, protect their security and don't result in the thing i fear the most, a two tier web where many are left behind because of lack of knowledge.

If you work in the industry you'll know that one of the biggest issues at the moment is the cross platform world and i really think microsoft have fu/cked up in not switching to the open source model when they had the chance around IE8.

The problem is that MS see IE as a marketing tool drive sales of windows, so lock it down and use the old fashioned delivery cycle to achieve this. What's really sad is they're probably the best in the business at making affordable operating systems for all, and if they followed all the others in having silent updates on an open sourced platform then everyone would see a marked improvement of their experience and MS would ultimately make more money.

Still the idea that it's just designers that think this way is one that's commonly held and frankly a bit dumb, would you recommend to a friend a moris minor when you can get a ferrari for free?
