Kingsland Red Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 Renewing our seats in the Kingsland, I was advised by the ticket office that they were significantly more expensive as they were now 'premium' seats. We looked forward to experiencing the upgraded comfort and booked tickets for the seats for the Ajax game. Having occupied them since the move from The Dell, they were getting a bit worn and we were thrilled that despite the expense, they had been upgraded with all the associated perks - cushions, arm rests etc. .....then I woke up and cleared the cobwebs. Perhaps a more appropriate name would be 'Premium-view seats'.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 I've been calling for some time now for the Chapel Stand to be refitted with chintz pattern Parker Knoll arm chairs, with inbuilt Thermos holders of course. I'm still awaiting a official reply from the Don to this entirely reasonable request. At £500 a bloody ST, you'd think they could throw in the odd packet of Wherters as well ...... WHITEE1987 Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 To be fair i first thought the same. But the only thing they have upgraded for the fans is the screens, which look amazing by the way. Perhaps when we extend the stadium we will get padded seats. We live in hope!
Webby Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 When I buy tickets for a game I always ask for 'halfway up'. Anything above halfway, IMO, is a decent seat. Yes, I have prefered areas of the ground but it's more important for me to elevated. I particularly dislike the first 6 rows or so. So, bearing that in mind, rows 1 to 6 in the kingsland centre would not be premium to me.

Perhaps when we extend the stadium we will get padded seats. We live in hope! I noticed during the Ajax match that a lot of the red seats in the Northam are starting to look very faded now, mainly because they'd obviously replaced a few here and there which stood out like sore thumbs. I couldn't care less if we have padded seats or not, I only get to use mine at half time anyway.

The faded seats spread across the whole ground to be fair. I have to use mine the whole game as im sat in the excuse to rip you off premium seats. We dont get to stand, cheer, sing or clap well mayb clap. I do think that next season the seating will be replaced for new stuff. The fade ruins the image of the club. Afterall we are minted. Hedgehog Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 I know someone who sits in these so called premium seats in the Kingsland, think they sit in the front row. Not so premium when it rains as they get wet!
SaintSteve Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 I am disappointed then, as I sit in The Itchen so-called Premium seats and expected to be seeing more comfortable seats. Last season watching Preston in the League Cup ( I think) we moved to the back of Itchen and found more comfortable seats than ours; hence the expectation. It maybe these are reserved for special guests only.
angelman Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 Renewing our seats in the Kingsland, I was advised by the ticket office that they were significantly more expensive. My old man has a couple in there somewhere, which I advised him to get as they weren't significantly more than other Kingsland - think it was £50 which is £2.63 per game more. It maybe these are reserved for special guests only. There are certainly some padded seats at the back of the Itchen, we got to see (but I don't think use) them when we did corporate last year. Speaking of corporate, the silver/bronze meal and pay for your drinks bar has been refurbished as a load of stand up tables and no meal for this year, something like £900 for the equivalent of an Itchen Premium seat and what basically amounts to the right to stand up at half time and pay for your beer on some carpet. The9 Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 I've never seen you bring your seat down to the concourse. I usually sit in my seat for a couple of minutes before the second half starts, thanks for asking.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 31 July, 2012 Share Posted 31 July, 2012 It's mildly satisfying to know that I am considered a Premium supporter as I sit in the Premium seating area at SMS. Thankfully the mongs can't afford to sit near me and my friends which is another nice bonus. Plus I get the best view of the action. Doesn't get any better really. Griffo Posted 1 August, 2012 Share Posted 1 August, 2012 Who would want a padded seat at football? Ridiculous. It's football not the f*cking theatre.
trousers Posted 1 August, 2012 Share Posted 1 August, 2012 Who would want a padded seat at football? People that want to sit on something more comfortable than a square foot of hard plastic for 2 hours? Just a hunch so please don't quote me on this.
