david in sweden Posted 30 July, 2012 Posted 30 July, 2012 I think there was a story that Davis took a knock during the pre-season romp in France, and so he is being given time to recoup. NA surely knows why he bought him, and where he will play ..so there is no hurry to play him (in public) as most of the planning is done on the practice pitch, and besides it's a chance to see how some of the " also-rans " and the young talents will fit in... without putting 3 points at jeopardy.
Pwoite Posted 30 July, 2012 Posted 30 July, 2012 Does anyone else suspect that Davis was brought in, not only as a key midfielder able to do much of what was missing last year, such as get box to box, score goals, add some bite and experience and so on, but also to be the on the field captain? It seems to be one area where we are missing, on field leadership.... Of course, if he is fighting with JWP for a starting position, then that's that theory blown.....

Though when I said hello he just nodded and carried on walking. Didn't stop to talk so it could well have just been a look-a-like standing in for him.
