Bear in mind he's German and has only lived here for 2 years. There were other questions that he was asked that he clearly didn't understand probably. Although it does sound a little bit dodgy....

yes...he was asked about it and the term "kidology" was used and he did not know what it meant....yeah, all lost in translation lol

Also, the commentator said to him: "So you were trying to pull a fast one?", and he said "Yes, I was trying to go as fast as possible."

The Chinese women got demoted from Gold to Silver for the exact same thing and apparently loads were disqualified at the World Championship's for the same thing. They announced a while ago they were going to clamp down on it, so you can't really complain.

Dave brailsford was interviewed on BBC about it and asked if he had any complaints; he said no, it was a fair decision.

The remark from Hindes was an off the cuff remark that was meant to be funny as part of an interview. I do not think there was any chance he was trying to cheat. Thats my 2p's worth on the subject.

Hmmmmm. Just read some more of his actual statement:

"We were saying if we have a bad start we need to crash to get a restart," Hindes said in the post-race interview with the BBC. "I just crashed; I did it on purpose to get a restart, just to have the fastest ride. I did it. So it was all planned.

Not so much lost in translation, and I think we all know the German sense of humour probably wouldn't encapsulate that. Oops...

I just tested a couple of Austrians in my office. They would have answered the question the same - they have no idea what "pulling a fast one" means.

Ok, pretty open-and-shut case that they have decided to ignore. Must happen often.

We'd be no good at that, we can't sit down to do it

Fine. Paralympic wheelchair dog walking. Come to think of it, I'd probably prefer watching that to f*cking dressage.

Bring back Motorsport! It used to be in the Olympics!

If you can have a horse then use Horsepower!

Glad rugby 7's gets introduced in Rio. Not convince golf should be (though I'm sure DP will disagree - winking thing)

Christ alive, the state of the two monsters going for women's Judo bronze now. The 20 stone Ukranian makes our "girl" look attractive. I wouldn't want to mess with either of these two.

If they're going to do it, it should only be for amateurs. Golf is still one of the rare sports where there is a clear difference between professional and amateur codes, and where both codes have their own significant place in the game on an international level.

From an Oz perspective, we're being treated to archery. What the F are they using to fire the arrows, not something the guys at Agincourt would recognise! I have fallen in love with the Dutch heptathelete. But only coz she is pretty, I am not getting off on the bodies of the skinny female atheletes - not even the beach volley ballers. Need a bit more meat, if you ask me.
With you on that, Gemma Gibbons silver Judo medallist was doing it for me yesterday.

By all accounts in Rio the pros will be competing.

That's what I thought, which is a massive kick in the teeth for the (thriving) amateur game.

Golf doesn't need to be an olympic sport, like Tennis it will never, ever challenge to be one of the major tournaments.

Pendleton smashed it. Hoy smashed it. Lots of rowers have smashed it. Jessica Ennis smashed it in the hurdles this morning.

I think we need a new phrase.

Did you see any of the men's judo?

They had a bloke from Guam (Ricardo someone Jr.) who was 34 stone (218kg) in the 100+kg. His opponent was 21 stone and looked tiny compared to him. The commentator openly said "how on earth does he fit on a plane"?

Smashed, definitely smashed. Just outside their own world record time from yesterday, fully expect it to go again later in the final vs Australia.

GB Men's hockey team jizzing on Pakistan 3-0 at the moment and that is definitely Dan Harding who is the best player on the pitch and just scored the 3rd.
