I always like to keep an eye on all the alternative tables, poulation, GDP, GSB weighted and all that.

When you look at them all and average them out, GB is winning the Olympics by a country mile! :D

Surprised that new Zealand aren't top of the population chart

I know! I realise he was stupid but to ban him for ever is a little over the top. He wound some people up on here superbly.

who gives a monkies, he'll be back with another account soon enough, if not already.

Back on subject I'm loving these olympics, giving me loads of ammo to fire at the Aussies with their lack of Golds, how many more can we expect!? :smug:

2 possible in Taekwondo (Jones, Stevenson) 2 to 4 in boxing (Agogo, Evans, Joshua, Campbell). Maybe Reade in the BMX but she's not favourite by any means. Not sure if there's anything else.

Sadly I'm away this weekend so will be missing all the boxing finals. Damn.

“@BBCSport: Did you just hear that on BBC1? American Manteo Mitchell reveals he ran last 200m of the men's 4x400m relay heats with a broken left leg!”

“@BBCSport: Manteo: "Soon as I took 1st step past the 200m mark, I felt it break. I didn't want to let the guys or team down, so I just ran on it." Hero”

Incredible

Wow - just wow. Manteo Mitchell US 4x400m runner finished his leg of the race DESPITE breaking his leg after 200m.....

US qualified for the final as a result - here is his interview.

Three days ago I was going up the stairs and I kind of missed one and landed awkwardly. I got treatment and I was fine. I did workouts, and when I warmed up today I felt really well. I felt I could go 44 (seconds)-low.

I got out pretty slow, but I picked it up and when I got to the 100m mark it felt weird. I was thinking I just didn't feel right. As soon as I took the first step past the 200m mark, I felt it break.

I heard it. I even put out a little war cry, but the crowd was so loud you couldn't hear it. I wanted to just lie down. It felt like somebody literally just snapped my leg in half.

I knew if I finished strong we could still get it (the baton) around. I saw Josh Mance motioning me in for me to hand it off to him, which lifted me. I didn't want to let those three guys down, or the team down, so I just ran on it. It hurt so bad. I'm pretty amazed that I still split 45 seconds on a broken leg.

Dear highly paid footballers. Take note

Something I find Amazing is the attention the Beeb are giving to Katie Taylor who fights for a country that might be nice near neighbours but have a different anthem, Passport and Money, yet we have the FIRST ever Olympic Women's boxing champion but the BBC 2 end credits finish on an Irish Boxer raising her arms in celebration at the win.

Rant over Daily Mail hat off!
