Pardon?

It doesn't matter now but at the time you were saying we had won gold, our last rider had yet to go... Gold was not certain at that point, if he'd scored 12 or more penalty points, we would not have won, or 8 points and a slower combined time.

I think.

Only switched to the gee gee's channel due to my Daughter being there (the ONE event she managed to aget a ticket for)

And Jeez that Jump off suddenly became insanely tense. I found myself shouting at a horse on telly that I didn't even have money on!

The local OSN 'tater just cracked - he was blubbing on air - it was almost a Norwegian Football Commentator moment, then the girl Announcer comes on with OH MY GOD WE JUST WON GOLD, the 'tater goes off again.

Absolutely nuts/marvellous. Daughter typing jibberish on FB 'cas she's screaming and crying at the same time.

Well done to the Old Farts. There's hope for some of us old 'uns yet.

Now for some proper sitting down sport.

Ok, this Sprint.

I don't get it.

They sprint every 10 laps, points given for each sprint. Winner is the person with most points at the end.

So out of that lap, they race to be first over the line?

So why are some of them charging away and lapping the field? Or is it a stamina thing?

20 point bonus for gaining a lap. Trott missed that break so will now have to limit her losses somehow.

3rd after 2 events now for Trott. Looking good. She did very well to come out of that last race without losing much ground after an excellent last sprint.

Well. Where are the medals FFS??

Women's football look good for a gong.

Cavendish was beaten. Arlington tomorrow?

I have a feeling we are going to be well short of the target

Yes, it is not going well.

(its Adlington, btw)

How much longer is this extended sports day lasting? Can't be much longer surely seeing all those

empty seats so might as well end it very soon.:twisted:

More's the pity it isn't over yet. Bored to tears with it already.

Adam Parsons ‏@AdamParsons1 Since 1908, Britain has never won more than 19 Gold medals. We're now at 17 with Kenny, Pendleton, Hoy, Payne, Grabarz, boxers to come

Jesus christ

Kenny is a machine.

18th Gold for GB

Has it happened? It's not on the tv, just football and some stupid netball like game.

I swear that Dave Brailsford should be knighted after this

Amazing

According to Wiki he got an OBE in 2005 and a CBE in 2009, so a KBE is probably on its way now.

BBC 2

Yes, he won

Missed that ffs. Went into town to put 50 on him too, but neither hills nor ladbrokes were taking bets ffs.

Fortunately won 110 quid on the roulette.:smug:

Did not realise that the powers at be in cycling changed loads of rules and limited number and events because we are so dominant

Yep and forced us to share all our technology with everyone else.

So, up to 18 golds. 1 more needed to match the 19 from Beijing, which in itself was an epic effort. Still got Chris Hoy in the Keirin, Vicky Pendleton in the sprint, Mo Farah in the 5,000m, Laura Trott tomorrow........

Other countries are sniping about our cycling achievements.

Frogs 8/11

Whingeing Aussies 6/4

Yanks 2/1

The Aussies were bigging themselves up before the Olympics started, saying they were going to beat us in the medal table. Currently they are in 16th place with 2 golds :D

Posted
Yep. So we just click them the V & win nearly all of the golds anyway.

Absolutely fantastic. Just keep changing the rules - we don't care we'll win regardless. What an amazing team.

To be fair though, its no different from those swimimg suits etc - the UCI want the sport to be pure - eg the best cyclist wins, not the best bike - the fact that we share it makes teh results taste that much sweeter as we know we have the best CYCLISTS and not winning just because we have the investment in technology.

Have been enjoying the girls hockey - Team GB look great (apart from last match).

Gone up a notch this evening though. Hats off to Kitty Van Male from the Dutch team. Just got sin binned. And she looks naughty.

Jeez, the muscles in those arms. I'd think twice about going Dutch with her.

But if WE invent a new piece of technology why should we have to share it with everyone else? If we are innovative enough then why should everyone else benefit?

Because its about a level playing field for the athletes. Its no different to why Pistorius shouldn't be allowed to compete with his spring legs. Imagine if someone invents a technology which blows away all competition and its protected by patent for 50 years. It would destroy the competitions as meaningful events.

Just got tickets for tomorrow night in the Olympic stadium. Properly made up.

Went today. Assuming you are going via Waterloo, ignore the advice to get off the tube at west ham ...go on to Stratford on jubilee line.. It's not too congested . Take food with you if you want it ...queues are long in the Park.

OK - going to Weymouth for the Sailing tomorrow.

What can I expect? Not really in to sailing, but it's the Olympics and once in a generation thing to see.

Is the traffic as bad as people thought?

What the hell happens during the races?
