Jonnyboy Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 I think bolts mum, dad and brother live in Essex. dont tell dune.
The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Real admiration for her. Arguable that she isn't world class though considering she is a world champion and has a silver and gold in the olympics. Does save it for the championships though. The feature on BBC and Michael Jonhson's commentary said it. She'd only run under 50 seconds twice in her life, both in major champs. Way less than her rivals. Sanya Richards who took gold had run under 50 seconds more than 40 times in her career. Michael Johnson says Ohuruogu's skill is peaking at majors and coming in when other main challengers don't quite peak.
View From The Top Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Dune, how did you react to the black, Muslim asylum seeker winning gold for GB in the 10k?

sussexsaint Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Just going through my photos from yesterday. Like this one
sussexsaint Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 This guy was awesome as well, astonishing to watch
The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Well then what is world class? She is a former world champion. That's like saying Greece are top class and better than all of Europe because they won the Euros. She's very decent and consistent, capable of upping her perfomances when it counts.
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Dune, how did you react to the black, Muslim asylum seeker winning gold for GB in the 10k? I was out so didn't see it.
Jonnyboy Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Well. Where are the medals FFS?? Women's football look good for a gong. Cavendish was beaten. Arlington tomorrow? I have a feeling we are going to be well short of the target Stop talking our country down.
The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 I was out so didn't see it. How d'you fell about it now June? Good, wasn't it? Or a bit like this?
doubleonothing Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 And Team GB top of the athletics medal table at the moment. Outstanding run by Bolt. Not sure he is human with a run like that!
View From The Top Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 I was out so didn't see it. But how do you feel about it?
Thedelldays Posted 5 August, 2012 Author Posted 5 August, 2012 Haha. NBC did not show the 100m final live. It now has to go out as pre recorded. NBC had show jumping on instead lol Epic fail
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 How d'you fell about it now June? You have gone up in my estimations with such hilarity and mirth.

The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 You have gone up in my estimations with such hilarity and mirth. Aw c'mon, you must have know that one was ironic surely? I like you June, you're in my top ten.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 That's like saying Greece are top class and better than all of Europe because they won the Euros. She's very decent and consistent, capable of upping her perfomances when it counts. Oh did Greece win a world cup, Euro and come second in the world cup as well? Maybe once yeah but she has won the worlds and got a first and second in two separate olympics. If that isn't world class then I don't know what is.
The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Oh did Greece win a world cup, Euro and come second in the world cup as well? Maybe once yeah but she has won the worlds and got a first and second in two separate olympics. If that isn't world class then I don't know what is. She's done great. I'm not at all denying that. But she won't be remembered as world class, say in the class of Michael Johnson or her victor tonight, Sanya Richards. She's been very good but at pretty much every point in her career she has been below the level of the absolute best, which is why she's always be seen as having done fantastically well to overachieve. In any case, whatever you think and whether you agree or not, we should be proud of what she did tonight. Brilliant running from a superb athlete.
The Cat Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Brilliant last round comeback from Luke Campbell in the boxing earlier. Guaranteed medal after reaching the semis. No messing with a 3rd/4th fight to decide the bronze, both get one. He really should win the semi too, he's much better than the Japanese bloke he's fighting.
The Kraken Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Good God, Andy Murray is as dull as sh*te. Great player, but oh my goodness.
Saint_clark Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Few people I know are still complaining about the Olympics (having watched none of it) and then when they did sit down to watch some they just spent the whole time taking the p*ss out of the "stupid" events and exclaiming "this is sh*t". I left early.
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Just noticed, in the 100m final some idiot threw a beer bottle onto the track behind the starting line. Hope they get the book thrown at them.
Macey_J2 Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 Just noticed, in the 100m final some idiot threw a beer bottle onto the track behind the starting line. Hope they get the book thrown at them. Couldn't see it from where we were, doubt anyone cared that much as it didn't affect the runners.
doubleonothing Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-19143628 Turns out the Dutch judo women did hit him then!
Saint_clark Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 What a tw*t. Can't believe more people around him didn't react immediately though.
Chez Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 the upside was that the drugs cheat was slightly distracted, apparently. Could that be a new rule, drugs cheats allowed in, but spectators allowed to throw things at them
This Charming Man Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 Just noticed, in the 100m final some idiot threw a beer bottle onto the track behind the starting line. Hope they get the book thrown at them. The first ever athletics banning order...
dune Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 The womens boxing is on now. Personally I don't think women should be allowed to box. It's not right. Mud wrestling yes, boxing no.
The Cat Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 The womens boxing is on now. Personally I don't think women should be allowed to box. It's not right. Mud wrestling yes, boxing no. Nicola Adams was excellent just now. Sadly there's no gold medals for mud wrestling.
dune Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 FFS, I want to watch the show jumping. Why isn't it on?
Minty Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 FFS, I want to watch the show jumping. Why isn't it on? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w31t4
dune Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w31t4 Is this live?
buctootim Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 FFS, I want to watch the show jumping. Why isn't it on? Christina Liebherr won a bronze in Beijing in 2008 but isnt in the Swiss team this time. Dont know why not.
dune Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 yes get in, clear round from 54 yr old Skelton. Rule Britannia.
bridge too far Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 Beth Tweddle's won a bronze in the individual uneven bars.
dune Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 The Saudis have some amazing horses, but not so impressed with their riders. Reckon they'll bottle it. GBR now in 1st following 4 pens for the KSA.
dune Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 f/cking happy clappy divs in the crowd cheering and waving their flags like mad when gbr riders come out.
Colinjb Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 Beth Tweddle's won a bronze in the individual uneven bars. The least she deserves for the effort she has put in across her career. She finally has a medal to sign off with.
The Cat Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 The least she deserves for the effort she has put in across her career. She finally has a medal to sign off with. Possibly would have been gold if she hadn't slightly stumbled on her dismount. Great performance though. Katie Taylor for Ireland in the women's boxing is a class apart. Man oh man she was absolutely brilliant.
latter day saint Posted 6 August, 2012 Posted 6 August, 2012 good clear round there ! can't believe i'm getting into this as i hate horse riding normally
