More dominence at the velodrome from Kenny

Did you see the Danish rider in the Omnium who was in thrid place before their 5th event? He crashed and had to get a new bike - his suit was torn in several places and he had some nasty abrasions(?). For some reason he managed to end in 6th place in the event which moved him to joint 1st place overall before the last event!

Before yesterday, I had never heard of Omnium :D

That was an amazing ride from Hanson. Still a chance Clancy can win gold as he's the best in the field at the kilometer. However it all depends on how the others above him place. Definitely on for a medal of some sort though.

I'll take your word for it. I couldn't recognize a good effort in that discipline, but it looked like he really gave it his all. Fingers firmly crossed for some sort of medal for him - as stated a few times already, we need all we can get ;)

Oh, while you're here - Clancy is the favourite you say, but who else excel at the 1km TT?

O'Shea of Australia is very, very strong (already has silver in the team pursuit) as is Hanson. Zack Bell will challenge too. Not sure about anyone else, sorry!

Fair play to Hansen and big congratulations to him, but I feel for Clancy. He lost the Gold by not being in the front group that gained a lap in the scratch race.

A ridiculous Kilometer time from Clancy though that would have won many world titles in the past. Especially good considering it came after 2 previous events on the same day.

Huge mistake in the scratch not going with the break away.

Superb Olympics so far. There's an image doing the rounds on Facebook at the moment asking for more role models like Jessica Ennis, rather than Jordan. Perhaps that's too much too hope for, but it has been humbling and inspiring to see the dedication and commitment of the world's best.

The performance of Team GB has been excellent. For a nation with just under 70 million, very good return so far.

The interview with the silver medalist in rowing just highlights what a terrible attitude footballers have when it comes to England

That was what the will to win is. Can Rooney and co come away from the euros saying they have their all. Well, going on the pop to Vegas before hand suggest he never

These Olympics have really shown what representing your nation is all about

Only saw that interview just now - just wow. You seldomly see the interviewer having to console the interviewed...

I'm now officially an Omnium JCL! :D

Haha the Brit Geordie 1500m runner

Out in the semi finals

He is brand new to the sport and only been in training since the turn of the year

He said he was chuffed just to get to the semi finals. His competitors have been training hard for 4 years, he has been training for 7 months after 2 years "on the lash"

LoL

Good 100 meter jog from Bolt there. Looks very much like there could be a new world record on the cards this evening.

Is the 100m final tonight then? Anyone know what time? I kind of want to see it but don't want to get stuck accidentally watching shotput or whatever!

Fair play to Ohuruogu; not properly world class but turns it on in the major championships. Great silver.

Real admiration for her. Arguable that she isn't world class though considering she is a world champion and has a silver and gold in the olympics. Does save it for the championships though.
