sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Incorrect, he's just been on the end of a thrashing. He has been broken. And he is obviously still trying. He fought back from 15:40 down to win that game. He is not rolling over but he is being given a stunning test and is barely holding on to stay in it. The worrying thing is that Muray can lose his head very quickly. He must hold serve here...
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Incorrect, he's just been on the end of a thrashing. He has been broken. If this was a grandslam he would have tried harder. This was in essence the perfect tournament for the Jock to get an easy ride against his superiors.
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 The worrying thing is that Muray can lose his head very quickly. He must hold serve here... He will. He's won this game.
dubai_phil Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 he'll screw it up of course. BUT he does have the chance to win two golds in one day. That's would make SPOTY less of a walkover for Wiggo
sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 He will. He's won this game. Indeed it looks that way. He's been phenomenal all match.
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 If this was a grandslam he would have tried harder. This was in essence the perfect tournament for the Jock to get an easy ride against his superiors. In a word, B*ll**** my friend. This is the best Murray has ever played.
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 In a word, B*ll**** my friend. This is the best Murray has ever played. Well he's bound to play better when his opponent isn't trying as hard as he would normally.
sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 he'll screw it up of course. BUT he does have the chance to win two golds in one day. That's would make SPOTY less of a walkover for Wiggo Fook me, that'll be some contest this year.
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 his opponent isn't trying as hard as he would normally. No, this is the part that's b*llsh*t.
sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Well he's bound to play better when his opponent isn't trying as hard as he would normally. He "isn't trying" as you say because Murray has broken his will and had an answer for everything he's thrown at him. Come on Andy, this is your time....
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Murray now serving for the match. *switches over to bbc hd for the cycling*
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 He "isn't trying" as you say because Murray has broken his will and had an answer for everything he's thrown at him. Come on Andy, this is your time.... Indeed, the only 'not trying' i've seen was Murray letting Federer take that previous service game, saving himself for his own serve.
sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Indeed, the only 'not trying' i've seen was Murray letting Federer take that previous service game, saving himself for his own serve. 2 match points...
Colinjb Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 To pick himself up from defeat a month ago, to face the same gauntlet again and to prevail in that imperious fashion. Andy Murray, that was heroic.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Shame for fed. Murray still can't win a slam though...
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Oh well at least it's another gold for GBR. Has his miserable mother forced a smile yet?
doubleonothing Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Fantastic result from Murray there. A bloke in the pub just now said "this could be the making for breaking of Murray". Hopefully this is the making.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 he'll screw it up of course. BUT he does have the chance to win two golds in one day. That's would make SPOTY less of a walkover for Wiggo It would be travesty if wiggo doesn't win
doubleonothing Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Oh well at least it's another gold for GBR. Has his miserable mother forced a smile yet? Just showed her then. Think she was trying. She failed
View From The Top Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Silver & Bronze in the mens' pummel. Awesome display.
Saintandy666 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Fantastic. He demolished Federer! Federer looks so sad... LOL
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Just showed her then. Think she was trying. She failed Worried her face would crack.
Whitey Grandad Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Well done. Straight sets too, leaves him fresher for the mixed doubles.
BadgerBadger Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Turning out to be another good day at the office:)
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Shane his interview isn't half as interesting as the three athletes last night. Well done to him though it's a big achievement.
sambosa75 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Anyone know what time the doubles final starts?
doubleonothing Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Fair play to him. He's singing the Anthem (Giggs take note)
Saintandy666 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Federer doesn't look bothered. Are you joking? He looked distraught at the end of that game. Obviously he's happy with the medal now. Can't you just accept he has won fair and square over 5 sets.

hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Fair play to him. He's singing the Anthem (Giggs take note) Yep pleased that he sang it.
Saintandy666 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Do you deliberately ignore what I write and see what you want to? You said Federer wasn't bothered when he clearly was! Stop trying to take away from his win.
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 You said Federer wasn't bothered when he clearly was! Stop trying to take away from his win. Are you still talking about the poncey tennis?
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 You said Federer wasn't bothered when he clearly was! Stop trying to take away from his win. I also said well done to him its a big achievement. In my opinion I said that fed didn't look too bothered certainly when you look at his reactions to slam losses such as against nadal where he has collapsed on the floor in tears. Stop reading into things that aren't there to suit your agenda.

hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Federer is a bad loser. Nope he is honest. As a thirty year old he was probably knackered and you can tell that.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 He sounded dejected in that interview. I disagree. As he said, he was totally drained and tired.
Saintandy666 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 I disagree. As he said, he was totally drained and tired. Emotionally.
RedArmy Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 From the bits I saw, Federer didn't seem to playing with the same fire he normally does.
Saintandy666 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 From the bits I saw, Federer didn't seem to playing with the same fire he normally does. Murray was preventing him with superb deep groundstrokes.
dune Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Andy have you ever heard of the saying "children should be seen and not heard"?
Saintandy666 Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Andy have you ever heard of the saying "children should be seen and not heard"? Good job I'm not a child then
fish fingers Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Synchronised swimming has finally begun. Channel 464.
View From The Top Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 Could we leave the pathetic bullying on other threads please. Don't want this one ruined by all the usual age boll.oxs from so called adults. Thanks. BTW, tennis shouldn't be in the Olympics.
hypochondriac Posted 5 August, 2012 Posted 5 August, 2012 From the bits I saw, Federer didn't seem to playing with the same fire he normally does. Yep. He seemed very tired to me (as he said) but was also happy with silver which suggests to me that he knows he wasn't at his best and went into the final hoping rather than expecting- hence why he wasn't upset as he normally is. Good achievement for murray anyway as I said and I hope they win the doubles.
