So Jessica Ennis has a 258pt lead going into the final two events. Apparently Ennis' personal best at Javelin is over 7m shorter than her rival, but she would have to throw about 12m less than her to lose her lead going into the 800m.

That's not a bad cushion to have.

Loving watching some of these medal ceremonies... the Women's Double Sculls pair look so amazed and overwhelmed by it all, it's great to see such raw emotion. Well done girls.

I think the real success and admiration people generally have for any medal winder (or anyone) in Team GB is that they just sam so normal and one of 'us'...i guess, they are

just look at the rowers that have just come second by a fraction of a second...they gave their all, can't even walk, talk and in tears as they are that exhausted and that they could not win....

you simply cannot ask for more...you really can't

then you have rooney and co at the other end of spectrum........

last race with the rowing ....so so close....silver

Shame, as they really seemed to be pipped at the last by the Danes, but credit to the Danes who gave a phenominal finish to win that.

Although disappointed by 'only' a silver, it was a bit of a relief though that they were able to continue.I feared the worst when they pulled up after the first start, despite all the camera angles BBC didn't confirm if within 100m or not.

Agree about the raw emotion though of the competitors here, the two girls overawed and humbled by their success, than Mark Hunter &Zac Purchase, physically drained by their efforts and struggling with disappointment of their 'failure'.Great credit to them (and John Inverdale) for showing their human side.

CVnts like Rooney, Giggs et al should take note.

Does anyone know how the website works? It's showing tickets available for tonight at the Olympic Park for athletics but for some reason it's not letting me through to buy them. When do batches of tickets go on sale etc? Not got a clue what I'm doing.

yeah.

they will put tickets on the website at any time...trouble is, so so many are always on there waiting and they get sold out before the officials can take the event off the website.

I assume you are registered...? if you are successful, you will have to pick your tickets up from a box office away from the olympic park as you can't even get into the westfields shopping centre without them

some of the prices are disgraceful really...just had a look on the website and tickets are available to buy for monday night at the athletics......for £725 each]

edit....sold out now lol

some still available for the closing ceremony....a mere £1500

Tickets for athletics tonight have been showing up for about an hour or so now. Then I get this..

Tickets to this session are currently unavailable for one of the following reasons:

Tickets to this event are not on sale yet. Tickets will go on sale at 11.00am 08 June 2012.

This event is no longer on sale.

We are currently completing our nightly maintenance.

no. I don't think so.

the best time to look (imo) is really late at night...but also, the swimming rowing etc are all but done so other venues will be in more demand.....

just have to be lucky and be online at the right time

murray and robson into the semis

Could it be her cracking body, beautiful face and cute demenor?

Could have something to do with it!

I think it's the fact she's not conventional, white-van-man-look-at-the-jubblies-on-that-guvnor. She's sweet, diminutive and powerful.

Would be a big ask to be her boyfriend though... she'd r0x0r a few studs b0x0rs with her stamina.

watching some sailing on BBC3 at the moment. very interesting but how the heck can the spectators keep track of it from the shore ?

I can't keep track of it on the TV. Probably the most boring thing i've watched.

As a small country with limited resources we certainly seem to have put a lot of money into targeting areas where the Americans and Chinese haven't.

It is incredible, but I suppose it's the way to do it. Target the sports you are good at. All the US medals have been in swimming. The Chinese have a decent spread.
