Minty Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 I don't think it's too bad... I feel sorry for those who were sat in seats that were not 'Premium' before this season, but if you're happy with Centre or Wings, it's not too bad an increase IMO.
JackanorySFC Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Could be way worse (look at other clubs). Fair pricing if you ask me, credit where it's due and that. I'm a season ticket holder but know people that won't blink at paying that, picking and choosing game by game next season.
oldsarum Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 I think £38, £35 and £30 for standard seats is reasonable, I wouldn't have been surprised if those seats were £45, £40 and £35 respectively. Although Premium and Centre seats are expensive i'll think find there are not many actually available following the sale of season tickets.
Minty Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 By introducing the Premium seats, it has actually kept some of the other prices at a more respectable level.
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 To break it down to something easier to digest : Northam CAT A £38 CAT B £35 CAT C £30 Itchen Premium CAT A £48 CAT B £44 CAT C £42 I honestly think that's about £10 cheaper than I was expecting. The Cat C "per match" ticket in the Northam is £2.50 CHEAPER than the per match cost for my ST renewal in there !

I'm a season ticket holder but know people that won't blink at paying that, picking and choosing game by game next season. Yep, don't have a season ticket but the prices are inline with my expecatations anyway and won't have any impact on me attending my usual number of games per season.
JRM Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Priority for Man Utd if you go to Wigan, that is fair as well i think, £68 for both game behind the goals, could be worse.

JonnyLove Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Make's a season ticket rather good value. For example £40 (average price) x 19 = £760. My season ticket cost £575 (or what ever it was)
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 if you have time go through per match adding up cost for Notham to compare to season ticket, that will be interesting to see what the saving is. Won't take long... I just need to find the number of matches per category. Something else has just occurred to me - will ST holders who buy additional tickets get additional loyalty points, or are they capped at the maximum of 10,15 or 20 for that match ?
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 (edited) Match Categories - Category A: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United (5) - Category B: Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle, QPR, Reading, Tottenham, and West Ham (7) - Category C: Fulham, Norwich, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, West Brom and Wigan (7) So for the Northam 5 x £38 = £190 plus 7 x £35 = £245 plus 7 x £30 = £210 Total cost per match = £645 My renewal was £575, £600 for a new ticket. I think the booking fee bumps it up a bit, you basically get 2 Cat A matches free. Edited 27 July, 2012 by The9
Junction 9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Has anyone tried booking online yet? Was working yesterday but can't log on now. Even with a password reset.
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 As expected really but always depressing to see it confirmed. I look forward to attending the cup games anyway. I think the Northam is pretty good value tbh.

So if you bought a new Season Ticket and paid by installments (which I did) you end up paying more than on match by match basis.
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 So if you bought a new Season Ticket and paid by installments (which I did) you end up paying more than on match by match basis. Don't forget there's a £2 booking fee for match tickets bought on the day (noticably absent from the ticket price article, but mentioned in the ST article!), so slap £38 on the match by match as well.
warsash saint Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 So an 'A' game for myself & my 9 year old nipper will have gone up by £20 !!!!!!
Saint Garrett Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 So an 'A' game for myself & my 9 year old nipper will have gone up by £20 !!!!!! We got promoted.....The A games aren't mediocre teams anymore, it's Man City and some of the best players in the world.

The prices are pretty much what I expected and seem to be on par with teams of a similar size to us.
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 So an 'A' game for myself & my 9 year old nipper will have gone up by £20 !!!!!! It's £49 a ticket to see Man City at the Etihad, and £38 (+ booking fee) to see them at St Mary's, I'm not sure what the problem is.
This Charming Man Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 So if you bought a new Season Ticket and paid by installments (which I did) you end up paying more than on match by match basis. Only a fiver more, plus you're guaranteed a ticket for every game and gives you the best chance of obtaining tickets for away games.
The9 Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 I honestly thought we'd be paying £50, £45 and £40, so £38 (£40), £35 (£37), £30 (£32) looks like a bargain.
saint lard Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Is it not now the requirement to have 2 full paying adults to get a child in free in the family section? Or am I making that up,I thought it was stated by the club somewhere. what about just my son (6yrs old) and I in the family section for each category ?

Matthew Le God Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Prices seem fairly reasonable all things considered, but can't see too many people paying £42 for our CAT C games. There won't be many non season ticket seats in the Itchen premium areas for them to sell.
bigchrisy Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 just out of curiosity what does a concession equal the young adult/student category last year?

View From The Top Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Seem pretty fair to me. Good prices for the less attractive games.
JRM Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 i think they will do well out of linking the wigan game, people will want to do that with it being the 1st game at home back in the top flight, and will buy them early to take advantage of linking it. i can't see many Wigan coming down for it, 600 at most, so hopefully we'll sell out and open up extra blocks of the northam
100%Red&White Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 Got to say they're pretty reasonable for Premier League - extortinate compared to most of Europe - was expecting higher. Was equally content with my ST renewal. I can't see them struggling to sell any tickets this season, if all that's left for some games are £48 seats then if you're not going week-in, week-out, it's not going to kill ya, there wont be a shortage of takers. Now, £25 for a pre-season friendly that's live on the box is pushing it a bit far. Lucky to get 5k tomorrow.

latter day saint Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 i was expecting higher prices than this so i'm well chuffed at the moment. think it will be a real fight to get tickets in the Northam though at those prices, may have to try Itchen North
doddisalegend Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 We got promoted.....The A games aren't mediocre teams anymore, it's Man City and some of the best players in the world. That line of arguement only works if you go to see the oppostion personally I want to watch saints and couldn't care less if they are playing Citeh of Brentford still looks like a Cat C game for me and the kids in the family area will be about £46 inc booking charge (or £58 cant work out if a - means my 6 year old is free or pays the same as a under 17) looks like I might manage a couple of Cat C home games this season.....god I hate the PL.

Not sure of your situation but I take my two under 11s and I'm chuffed with the prices. Category C in the family centre will be the same price as last year, Cat B only £4 more. Its only the Cat A games where it hurts a bit at £51, almost double last year.

Yeah, nor particularly bothered, just saying. Main thing for me is the priority for away tickets anyway. Plus having the same seats every week.

southamptonbairn Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 The pricing is what I expected and reasonable for Premiership football. I just wish they would announce which games they are linking for priority booking well in advance. I've got flights booked for the Spurs game and no doubt 2 weeks before the Villa or Fulham game they will announce it's linked with Spurs and will be too late for cheaper transport costs

Also, Villa is the same category as Spurs so unlikely to be linked.

Although I agree with you to a certain extent and understand your position, it's expected that the price will go up. Lets also not forget that our team will be better than last year and the wages will be bigger. Will have to pay for it somehow! Despite this I still think football is horribly overpriced but us mugs will pay for it anyway!
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 You're not one of those w*nkers that keeps shouting that, are you? No, he was saying it to me as we had season tickets together in block 42 but I have moved this season, a decision which, amongst other things, was to get away from that pr*ck(s) who shout 'pork' and other ********.
Saint Scott Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 May seem a bit of a silly question but I don't get to come to alot of games so was unsure. A friend and I are hoping to get tickets for Man United at home. I am a member but he isn't. Can you only buy 1 ticket per member for general sale or will I be able to try and get 2?

Saints don't have a membership scheme. Do you mean you are on the ticket database? Your best chance of getting a Man Utd ticket would be to buy tickets for the Wigan game as they are linked and you get priority. There is a good chance the Man Utd game won't reach general sale. Edited 27 July, 2012 by Matthew Le God
teamsaint Posted 27 July, 2012 Posted 27 July, 2012 so you can buy a ticket for Wigan, but you aren't actually guaranteed a Man u ticket, because ST holders could claim all the man u tickets before you get through to book one. Is that right?
