Olympic Opening Ceremony

Sorry, did you actually read my post? As I stated, some of the events will be brilliant, I've got tickets for a few of them. But tell me what about the Archery event that particularly excites you? I work all over London, so I'm well aware of the changes in transport/security policy - but your approach seems to be, that you can only be critical of something that directly affects you? Yes, millions of people stepped out of their houses to watch the torch go by, but millions of people also watch Big Brother every year, I take it you also consider that a great success we should be proud of?

What are your thoughts on the huge increase in costs for the Olympics in relation to the original estimate?

Or the vast power and control that corporations such as McDonalds and Coca Cola have over such basics as what we're able to eat and drink at the events?

What are you wittering on about? Big Brother? WTF? Keep on topic please, we are posting about the Olympics. And you've got tickets too, you jammy sod, but still whining on. I'd take a packed lunch if I were you, i'm sure you'll be able to shake your fist at the golden arches as you pass them and make a worthwhile statement. But don't abuse the Archers though, they are mustard with their aims.

Why bother even posting on the subject if you don't even have an actual opinion on the matter?

I can reveal from my sources within the opening ceremony (2 dancers) that Mary Poppins and something called a voldemord are involved in the ceremony.

It is timed down to the minute. They have to be "on stage" at an exact time. (I like to think this makes me ITK)

I predict that some farm animals will break loose or just cr@p everywhere.

From what I am hearing it is quite an impressive ceremony.

Will report back if I hear anything else ahead of the event.

Where did Appy find the time to do this. he sholud be trying to sign more trialists FFS

I'm not really surprized that those who so often profess to be so ''patriotic'' and proud of our country are so eager to bore us to tears with their naysaying and moaning.... speaks volumes

Now you know what it feels like reading your posts.

OMFG, just watching the freakfest on the news with divs ringing bells and dressed in fancy dress.

Did you see Jeremy Hunt ***tting some women with his bell?

Here's the Disco re-mix in case you did'nt

Saw it this morning. Still laughed at it when I saw it on the news this evening.

A bankrupt nation spending millions on holding a great big festival of drug taking, wonderful. And they have to hold it during the school holidays so all the flight prices and hotels abroad are sky high meaning you're trapped. Can't wait for the extra 2 hrs travel time to work this weekend to make way for some random 'sport'.

Eh? The topic is the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, yet you veer off, wittering on about Big Brother in some inane way. I'll tell you if what i thinkabout the finances when the games are over (if you really want to know) and i couldn't give a flying f*** about corporate sponsorship. Are you happy now? Probably not, but do try to enjoy the thing, it is very likely to be very good.

If you like that sort of thing.

The Saints Web Forum comes up trumps again by exclusively revealing that some people like something and others don't.

Can we see who likes tomatoes and who doesn't next?

Yes but this is SWF. If you personally dont like something it should banned and all the people who do like it are mongs. Live and let live? Pffft.

I think it's going to be fantastic tonight and the Games will leave a positive legacy for years.

I was the website editor for Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games and this is so much bigger. I distinctly remember working at the Manchester opening ceremony as I had to keep the site up to date and in time with what was going on at the stadium and on TV around the world. Was a bit hairy at points as a couple of things went out of synch at the stadium and I had to improvise a bit!
