Ha, some of you sound like the customer in the que at starbucks and costa.. que for ten minutes then '3 quid for a coffee, **** that' like that situation costa and Citeh don't give a ****. They'll still sell the tickets. Great comparison if I do say so myself.

Would have been even better if you could spell queue :)

****sticks, has this sold out already? Steady on people, there are loads of games this season. FFS.

Looking for 4 tix together (or minimum of 2) if anyone is looking to sell. Will be able to meet Soton/Surrey/Oxfordshire/London areas, cash in hand from next week onwards.

Am I right in thinking that these went on general sale today, if so anyone know if we there was a lot of interest today, was hoping for a sell out for our first game back in the PL.

Went on general sale yesterday, no idea how many have been sold.

Just to be sure and even though it has nothing to do with this game (but with the general topic), I've made the following assumptions concerning the United game:

-On the website, you can only purchase for Wigan/ManU if you're a ST holder, and only use the priority booking if you are one;

-The deadline shown for the start of the sale of ManU only tickets on the website is for ST holders exclusively;

Is this true?

I'm hoping so because I'll be away for the Wigan match and have 2 relatives that would like to come to the ManU game, so I'm looking to buy tickets for that match only, but I'm worried about the fact that people from the general sale of Wigan tickets (not sure when it starts) might get ahead of me in getting tickets for the game.

Why would someone with a season ticket need to purchase for United or Wigan..?

As long as you have a customer number you can buy tickets online for Wigan and Man U if you buy them together, you do not need to be a season ticket holder

They aren't that quick at sending them out to be fair. Only sent one to my mate who ordered 2 with his sister as an added friend. Also beware I ordered 2 one for a mate with an added friend and they sent me my ticket and his ticket separately to his address. So for people ordering on other peoples customer numbers they go to the registered address of that number.

It's a pity because they used to be quick, often arriving the next day or 2 days max.

I never like it when it gets to a few days before a match without tickets arriving, especially for away matches when could be travelling up a day or so before.

Bought Man City and Wigan tickets online last Thursday and they still haven't arrived by post. Has anyone received them yet who ordered last Thursday or after?

Well Wigan tickets arrived in post today but still no Man City, although they were ordered within an hour of each other last Thursday.

Emailed Ticket Office yesterday but no response, looks like a phone call is required.

Not impressed, many many previous online ticket purchases have all been quick and easy until these Man City tickets.

Haven't received them after a week from ordering and now only 2 postal days to go until the match. To make matters worse I haven't had any response to my emails (one yesterday and another today) and have repeatedly tried to phone the ticket number 0845 .......... only to get the message 'all of our operators are busy please try again later'.

At least I got an email response from the Man City ticket office (within an hour) to say that if the tickets don't arrive I can get some re-printed at the Etihad Box Office on Sunday, I have never had to do this before so I presume that I just take the online receipt and proof of ID. Hopefully the tickets will arrive tomorrow or Saturday so this ticket re-printing will not be necessary.

I don't want to cast blame as to why the tickets delayed as I don't know if it's Man City late sending them down, or Saints ticketing (on site or contracted) or the postal service (although Wigan tickets arrived today 1 day after post mark and ordered same day as Man City), However it would make life easier if I could actually contact the Saints Ticket Line to find out status.

Think this is possibly my first ever post on here, (hello!) , might be of some use tho.

I still haven't got my City tickets.

Went and visited the ticket office today to enquire. The guy had to pop out the back to ask but eventually came back to tell me they were being posted today (by first class delivery), so all being well would be with me tomorrow.

Obviously I asked what would happen if they didn't turn up, and he advised to go to the City ticket office on match day and pick up duplicates. No mention of what ID would be needed and to be fair, I forgot to ask.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for your news about the City tickets, hopefully they will arrive by post on time for us all. They've cut it a bit close though because I'm sure that some will be travelling up for the weekend. It's a pity that tickets cannot be printed online like air tickets/boarding passes can.

I too was wondering if we need a re-print at City how they know that we genuinely have not received our tickets rather than have sold them up the road and getting further tickets, especially seeing as when ordering seat numbers were not shown. I presume that info is shared between clubs.

I have heard that its about 1,500 sold but that is not confirmed so just over half the allocation, unless anyone has any further numbers.

I really hope that's not true. That's embarrassing.

Disclaimer: I don't care for people offering ridiculous excuses as to why we haven't sold out, whilst sitting there with their rose tinted glasses on. It's pathetic and that's a fact.

It is ****, but had it not been the first game of the season with the bonus of my attendance guaranteeing me an Arsenal away ticket, there's no ****ing way I'd be going either.

Did anyone else see a short piece in the Daily Express rag today (sorry, I don't buy it, but I had opportunity to "read" it). Bizarre little piece on page 77 by Mick Dennis "Football Correspondent" (aka 3rd rate hack):

" Strange that Southampton fans couldn't fill the away section at their first top-flight game for seven years. There weren't many gaps in Saints' defence but there were in the seats"

That's it. What a strange thing to write, were there no other games where there were empty seats? Assume he doesn't know about the average home attendances we have been getting while in the 2nd/3rd tier which put several PL teams to shame. What is this guys agenda?

According to Wiki he is a referee and a magistrate and "he has written a book about football, The Team, which is part of the Quick Reads Initiative series of books, aimed at readers who lack confidence."

Me neither, same for all 6 of the people I attended with. I quite enjoyed our chorus of "we're only here for the Arsenal" after they read out the attendance on Sunday at the Etihad.

Big gaps in the crowd. Noticeable on TV. And I guess he did know about out average attendances from the lower leagues, perhaps why he was surprised that those numbers didn't turn into a full away contingent.

He's not saying anything our fans haven't been. That we're coming back into the Premier League and want to be taken seriously on the pitch and off it.

Did he realise the cost of the tickets as well, the average fan travelling from Southampton must have spent in excess of £100 for this one game including travel, food/drink ticket etc.

Match ticket £49

Ticket Tax £1.50

7 Seater Car Hire and Petrol for 6 people there and back £30 (frankly a bargain)

Food on the way up £2.50 (meal deal sarnie!!!)

Alco-ma-hol £10 (bottles of beer from the fridge and a small round)

Programme £3

Food going back £7 (KFC/Burger etc)

Certainly £100-ish for me, and there were two of us going from my house. That's with negligible food and drink costs as well, and pretty cheap transport as we split everything 6 ways.

Thing is, if those spaces had been at the back of the top tier they'd have been hardly visible, same problem at St Mary's, Block 43 is right behind the goal and usually looks empty because it's often the last block on sale or segregation.

Yes similar for me

Ticket £49 paid in cash at ground so no ticket tax

Travel £25 hired 7 seater too but 7 of us

Programme £3

Round of drinks in pub £15

Food for the day including some lovely chips with gravy from the chip shop outside the stadium £9

Think I am going to have cherry pick my games this season otherwise will be homeless.

Not really. I had a fair few messages from mates saying that they couldn't believe we hadn't sold out.

Despite the amount of time I spend having a pop at our support, even I was surprised by just how many empty seats there were in the lower tier. Was a very poor effort.

Also, I don't buy the £100 day out argument as the main reason for putting people off. Our support North of London has traditionally always been poor. We'll sell out Arsenal in minutes and plenty of people will spend around the £100 mark on a day out in London. The fact is, people couldn't be bothered to travel to Manchester, which is a shame for them.
