Saint Garrett Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 Southampton FC @officialsaints #SaintsFC announce ticketing arrangements for next month's trip to @MCFC: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2859977,00.html Ticket prices for the match at the Etihad Stadium are as follows: Level 1 (Blocks 113, 114 & 115) Adults - £49.00 Under 16s - £27.00 Over 65s - £40.00 Wheelchair/Walking Ambulant plus free assistant - £40.00 Level 2 (Blocks 213, 214 & 215) Adults - £51.00 Under 16s - £27.00 Over 65s - £42.00
The9 Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 £49 and its on TV thats a disgrace. I'm not sure why it being on tv has any relevance, I'm sure City will manage to sell plenty of tickets to people who suddenly discovered their life-long love of the club since they got Mansour's Millions. It's on tv, so no-one HAS to go. Now if you'd said "£49 and they're playing a team who were in League One 18 months ago" I'd have probably agreed with you. FWIW, I'm interested to see if Saints take this opportunity to announce our home ticket prices, you know, now that we all "know" it's £50 a ticket in the Prem (and before Arsenal sell us two tickets for that price in a few weeks' time).
WHITEE1987 Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 Seeing as no one has actually answered the question yet they go on sale 2nd August for season ticket holders.

The9 Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 You hope....!!! We're Arsenal's lowest category match, their cheapest tickets are £25.50 for that category, the away fans are in the cheapest seats and there's a Prem regulation that prices for home and comparable away areas must be the same. Ergo, two tickets for £51.
aintforever Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 At least there shouldn't be much trouble getting tickets if you want one. £50 a ticket! I'm not even slightly interested in paying that to watch a football match.
suewhistle Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 £50 a ticket... hmm. But as I only get to see a few matches a season when I'm over I'm prepared to do so. I'll head up north, staying with various friends on the way and take in the match. Have a night out in Mancs on the Saturday.... So any season ticket holder who won't be going prepared to help me out?

South City Si Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 Its is a bit "WELCOME BACK GUYS! By the way we put the price up!" I'll watch it on tv thanks!
Kingsland Nick Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 Revenge for our complaints about the allocation at the last game at Maine Road
suewhistle Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 That's odd. Turkish so often posts just after me, sometimes I think I've got a stalker.

Turkish Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 That's odd. Turkish so often posts just after me, sometimes I think I've got a stalker. Do you ever post anything not talking about yourself? I was offering to help Suzy, as a a season ticket holder that isn't going and all that. But bollo*ks then.
SB Posted 25 July, 2012 Posted 25 July, 2012 Ha, some of you sound like the customer in the que at starbucks and costa.. que for ten minutes then '3 quid for a coffee, **** that' like that situation costa and Citeh don't give a ****. They'll still sell the tickets. Great comparison if I do say so myself.
WHITEE1987 Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 I think this game will sell out. First game back in the prem is a selling point plus seeing the newly developed team against last seasons champions. There will be a good following for this even at that price. Even people moaning about the price will go. Nobody has principles anymore.
dune Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 Ha, some of you sound like the customer in the que at starbucks and costa.. que for ten minutes then '3 quid for a coffee, **** that'. I've actually done that. I'm not tight by any means, but hate being ripped off.

And these are my principles, if you don't like them I have others.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 this will not sell out,it will reach general sale. we couldnt sell out boro when we had the chance of being champions. 49 pound is taking the p**s but thats the premiership, one big rip off will be there though, cant wait

I have been to alot of away games in the last few years, but with it being 4pm, on SKY, 4 hours away, a ground I have already been to twice and £50 odd quid just for the ticket, It's a no from me. Just doesnt make financial sense, I'd rather go to a few new grounds this year, including Arsenal a few weeks later.

You might not get chance to get Arsenal ticket though, as I would imagine all tickets will initially be on sale to those season ticket holders who go to City, so there might not be many left for those who don't go to CItee

I'll be massively ****ed off if I don't get a ticket for Arsenal, but don't really want to go to City and spend god knows how much money just to guarentee my ticket for Arsenal.

Saint Garrett Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 What is the allocation likely to be ? I guess about the same as City so 2800?
Saints foreva Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 Why do we give a bigger allocation in a 32,000 seater than City give in a 48,000 seater?
dune Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 Just a thought but could the pricing be revenge for the cheap tickets they were forced to sell us?
This Charming Man Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 Just a thought but could the pricing be revenge for the cheap tickets they were forced to sell us? Doubt there is anyone left at City who would even remember that. It'll be more to do with the fact it's the opening game of the season and they're newly crowned champions.
The Kraken Posted 26 July, 2012 Posted 26 July, 2012 Why do we give a bigger allocation in a 32,000 seater than City give in a 48,000 seater? Premier League rules state you must give 10% of stadium capacity or a minimum of 3,000 seats to the away side, whichever is smaller. So 3,000 is the default minimum. We allow up to 3,200 due to the configuration of St. Mary's.

Hence the 'missing' 200 tickets from City.
WHITEE1987 Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Just taken a trip round to the ground to get ready to buy City tickets. Supervisor let me nip out of work. Got to the car park gates and was greeted with a string of people queuing around the ground. Still think this will sell out. Just gonna get mine online now. Not interested in queuing. Was just trying to avoid the booking fee but hey ho. Oh whats this they now have a queuing system on the online ticket site. Seems it was destiny lol!!
WHITEE1987 Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Had to change the password. Now to see what giant sh*t storm the queue page starts.
The9 Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Had to change the password. Now to see what giant sh*t storm the queue page starts. Seems sensible at the mo, I was 147 and got in after about 8 minutes, during which time mates at the ground confirmed they were at the front so should be ok... Not that I could log in again having changed password yesterday!
MadDogMatt Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Got mine online no problems, hopefully there wont be a fight on the bus after the game like after we won there last time!
oldsarum Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 On line system worked fine for me and tickets linked with 4 friends
Griffo Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Can you only use one debit card for an account? I've tried to buy tickets on an account for City using someone else's card details and payment isn't going through..
rick1976.4.38 Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 use your dads and ill drop money round today
This Charming Man Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Can you only use one debit card for an account? I've tried to buy tickets on an account for City using someone else's card details and payment isn't going through.. Maybe because the billing addresses don't match?
Griffo Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 Maybe because the billing addresses don't match? If that normally doesn't let payment go through then it'll be that. Buying for someone else on my old man's ST. Don't see why it matters to them how it's paid though!

It doesn't, but it's nice to know there are systems in place to make it less worthwhile for someone nicking your debit card details and running up online bills.

dune Posted 2 August, 2012 Posted 2 August, 2012 £49 and its on TV thats a disgrace. I'd call it a bonus. I'll be f/cked if i'd pay that, so cheers SKY i'll watch it on TV instead.
