I'm just not sure he is that good. I'd rather have Curtis Davies I think to Dann, he's been relegated twice in the last 2 years...not a great CV. I'm not writing him off as I'm sure he'll be a pretty solid signing, just think there is better out there to be had. Happy for him to step up though.

I don't think it's as straightforward as we make out on here. Nigel is obviousy a big fan of the right foot + left foot centre back pair.

I'm pretty sure we'll sign another right footer. Left footers are harder to come by, and Nigel might take the view that an "adequate" natural left footer is a better option than a "good" right footer playing on the left. I wouldn't be surprised to see Seaborne in the 25 as back up to Jos.

Jan Vertonghen to Spurs, Ron Vlaar to Villa; Ivan Ramis to Wet Spam; Jonas Olsson in new contract talks with WBA. Need to get into the shop soon or the shelf will be getting empty.

Wonder if Radhi Jaidi has been to Marseille to speak to Cameroonian CB, Stéphane Mbia Etoundi? They speak the same language.

Why is he featuring in every preseason game then?

If he was never going to play for us again he'd be with the u21s with Barnard, Forte and Dickson.

I think the answer to that one is that - if/when.. he moves, we can prove that he was fit enough to play and took part in the pre-season (rather than rotting on the training ground with the Academy lads).

If - by any chance - he suddenly looks like his old self, then NA may decide to keep him, but in reality it also makes him more " saleable " to other clubs, as it's more than likely that not only Prem. scouts watching the likes of Saints train and /or Shaw and JWP, but Npc / L1 clubs looking for some extra strength in their squads, and may bid / buy ..ala.. Harding to Forest.

I think the answer is that Adkins rates him, and I think he's right to do so.

Seaborne has often been underrated by some fans, unfairly in the view of many, but after he was skinned by Mackail-Smith at P'Boro his stock went right down and Adkins seemed to lose confidence in him. Since then the time out can't have made him a better player and even if he is now fully fit physically, can he really be considered Prem class? Obviously, Adkins does see him in training but its easy to imagine Prem strikers running rings round him. If Martin wasn't good enough for this season, can't see that Seaborne is and I suspect he's behind Stevens in the order now. Maybe he's just being kept on until a new CB is signed.
