As a big Boxing fan I would love this fight to happen. But as a big Hatton fan as well I am slightly worried due to the amount of time since the Pacqiaou (sp) fight and the fact Roach seemed to work him out. Would have to set a date up of March ’13 to give him time to get properly fit and have adequate sparring time.

If he could get fit enough what a fight it would be! Forget the Haye v Chisora freak show, this would be up there with Benn v Eubank in terms of interest and class – I seriously think it could sell out City of Manchester or Wembley. Kahn loves to go to war (too much) these days which could play into Hatton’s hands as he always loves to come forward, also Kahn is terrible at fighting on the inside, constantly getting warnings and points deductions for holding – and that is a Hatton strength. Also I could never see Hatton losing to the likes of Prescott, Peterson or Garcia in his prime, just depends on what he's got left in the tank.

My only fear/ problem with the fight is what could happen outside the ring. Worried certain idiots would make it a Britain v Pakistan/ Muslim fight and a lot of animosity could come out in the build up from both fighter’s fans.

Hatton is shot and has spent too much time out of the ring.

Khan could make it a virtual shutout if he fights on the back foot and picks Hatton off. But there's always that chance with Khan's chin that he'll get caught and lose. It's what makes him such an exciting fighter.

They'd both make an absolute fortune from it though.

Hatton is shot and Khan is over rated. No way is it a Benn V Eubank fight in terms of class. In their prime Hatton wins easily, but I fear for him after the beating Manny gave him. I'd hate to see him get a beating off Khan as he isn't fit to wipe up his p*ss.

why was Haye v Chisora a freak show

and Hatton coming back to get a battering not..?

and up there with Benn v Eubank in class...????? WHAT..?

Wasn't a freak show, just a bit of a circus and all a bit 'WWE'. Thankfully they delivered an entertaining fight so everyone was happy at the end of the day.

Doubt we'll see an all British fight in the class of Benn v Eubank for quite some time.

Mayweather and Manny are a different class to Khan.

Khan has his weaknesses as have been shown recently. I reckon Khan would boss the fight but Hatton would know he has a good chance of knocking him out. Would be pretty decent, imo.

Hatton is well past his best and that's the problem. Hatton in 2003 wins no problem. I don't like seeing ex greats hanging on for one more payday. Khan has most to lose. He loses its game over, Hatton wins then he will want another pop at Mayweether and will get sparked out again. It won't end well whoever wins.

Hatton should not step in a ring again. He let himself go horribly out if shape in between fights, god knows what condition he'd be in now. I don't think he would be able to get in the shape needed to fight Khan although Khan can be so thick in the ring, he could get lucky.

The key thing about Khan is that he is still only 25 and has a lot of class and talent if he can cut out his consistent mistakes. I don't think Khan needs a fight like this. He'd be better off fighting Kel Brooks as that would generate loads of interest and would be just as much of a career maker or breaker.

It was a freak show because the whole build up was staged like it was a cheap and tacky WWE match.

isn't nearly every big boxing match...?

For plenty of fights there is the usual pre-fight trash talking but it's nearly always underpinned by a bit of respect for the other fighter. Threating to shoot one another and smashing a bottle over the oppositions head takes it a bit too far. None of it is neccessary when the quality of the fighters speak for themselves.

He'd get ironed out again.

Khan?

I'd agree.

But in his current situation, it is the only fight i can see him going for, the upper echelons of the boxing world are miles away for him now.

Hatton is so out of shape there's no way he could get back in the ring and be competitive. I couldn't even see Kahn and Hatton being able to make the same weight division. As others have said, Hatton in his prime would beat Kahn.

I think Kahn can still be a decent fighter and do relatively well but there's no way he's in the same league as Pacman or Mayweather. Unfortunately that chin is always going to be a problem for him. The Kell Brook fight would be a good one to watch as well.
