Saints interested in Lens apparently?

Of the last 33 teams promoted from the Championship, 13 went straight back down. Of the remaining 20 that stayed up, 4 didn't survive a second year (which may increase if Norwich, Swansea or QPR are relegated in the 2012/13 season)

This informations brought to you be the Internets! I dunno how legit it is, but if true the odds of survival is better than I thought!

How was it? Do all three promoted teams routinely stay up then?

It ain't the first time! They said that on the Internets! I think it was like 10 years ago though. It's actually more common than all 3 going straight back down tho! (which ain't happened this century)

So I've done some thinking and adrians is saying there is not much difference between the promoted teams and the bottom half of the prem. He is saying in effect that the odds of relegations is 3/10. Hypo is saying this is lies.

I've done some MLG to find the odds of relegations is proven to be 13/33. Which is like 4/10.

We is therefore finding that hypo is right and adrians is owing him big apology cos 4/10 is worse than 3/10!

It looks like Lens has found a place in the starting 11 again, which makes it harder to get him for you guys. I thought i'd tell you this ;)

Thanks for the info, as you can see there are a lot of people so far up their own stats they cant be bothered to thankyou for your post. ;)

Why would you have to say that?

You can think it if you like, but that doesn't mean everyone else has to. I completely disagree. There's very little gap between lower prem and upper championship, consistently proved year after year with promoted teams, relegated teams, cup games and championship signings making a successful step up. The gap is between the upper prem teams and the rest.

Every season people seem to crave 'proven premiership players', yet 99% of the time this seems to mean players who've proven to be very average in the premiership, or worse, or perhaps had a blip of short term good form. Far rather sign people based on believing they're good footballers with an exciting future.

This... well put.

Tokyo I haven't seen anyone out porn you yet I don't think the bear has it in him, your ways are too stealthy and I personally enjoy the "i didn't know angle" to avoid bans. You are my 2nd favourite poster behind the Bear young jedi.

Thanks CC, I think it is now well established that I am a poor mans Bearsy. I don't mind as we are BFFF. You are my 2nd favourite poster that doesn't post very often.

thought our Dutchie friend said he couldn't finish...

Thats what i said indeed, he tries 5 times, and one will go in like this. Ofcourse if you see how many chances he creates, that shouldnt be a big problem.

So he wants to move to the MLS to further his career? Odd move to make.

He does also say thought that he would prefer a move to the English or German league as that suits his play.

You could probably change that to he wants to move to the MLS to further his bank balance. Perhaps they are offer silly wages that the English and Germans clubs that were interested didn't want to pay.

Whilst by all accounts he is a quality player, available at a reasonable price and young enough that his value would improve greatly were he a success here; he is very much not a priority for January. If we get him alongside some other defenders , then great. If spare cash is used on him ahead of defenders, that's madness.

As it is obvious to the entire fan base, I'd very much doubt that the club will have missed the fact that we are short of a couple of defenders.

If I had to guess, think we will buy 3 players, a cb, lb and natural wide man to rotate with Lallana and Punch

with what exactly. Three quality players in those positions would push our annual spending towards 50 million I guess and I for one doubt very much that we have the wherewithal available. We've blown our wad already and I don't see us shelling out much at all in January, unless of course we have some incoming.
