AndyD Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 Just seen this on Sky Bet - now, I'm not a huge gambling man - BUT, £10 on to make £130 could be very fruitful indeed?
AndyD Posted 19 July, 2012 Author Posted 19 July, 2012 I did think it should read 13/1 but it's on the same page as the latest Clyne story and it reads 12/13 - unless I've lost the plot :-( Not a bad price though. I'm going to do it as I think 11th or 12th is within our reach. Apart from United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton - i Think we can beat/take points off the rest off them!
Winchester Red Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 I would hope we could sneak a point off the last 5 on your list too, particularly at home .....and last season the first 3 all lost to low opposition at some point
trousers Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 If that's 13-1 to finish top half I'm having a slice of that. I'm still convinced we'll finish top 8 (said the man who predicted auto promotions the last two seasons....)
Yarm Saint Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 7/1 is the price for a top half finish...very stingy! Will wait to see what the points quote is on the spreads.

The 12/13 is the season years (i.e. 2012 and 2013). Saints are 7-1 to finish top half, here: http://www.skybet.com/football/premier-league/event/14173594

trousers Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 7/1 is the price for a top half finish...very stingy! Although we, together with Reading, are the longest odds to finish in the top half.
trousers Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 I see Man City are 1-7 odds on to beat us on the opening day of the season. With Saints 14-1 to win. 11-2 the draw.
farawaysaint Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 I was going to say... Pretty sure we were favourites for relegation 2 weeks ago with Reading
trousers Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 150-1 to finish top 4..... http://www.skybet.com/football/premier-league/event/14024397
buctootim Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 I see Man City are 1-7 odds on to beat us on the opening day of the season. With Saints 14-1 to win. 11-2 the draw. Thats an average of almost 10-1 against Saints getting a result (win or draw). Damn good odds for the first game of the season.
Lighthouse Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 I'd wait until after the first 4 games when we've been spanked by the top 3 teams in the league and are bottom of the table, THEN stick a bet on Saints to finish top 10. Will probably get better odds.
dellboypete Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 sky have us as 2nd faves for relegation at 5/4 - Reading faves at 11/10
dellboypete Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 sky odds to stay-up Newcastle 1/200 Everton 1/200 Sunderland 1/33 Fulham 1/33 Aston Villa 1/16 Stoke 1/16 QPR 1/8 West Brom 1/7 Swansea 4/11 West Ham 4/11 Wigan 1/2 Norwich 1/2 Southampton 4/7 Reading 4/6
saint.tom.clancy Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 Betfair have us 19/1 to beat City. I'm definitely having a bit on that, free money!

VectisSaint Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 I was going to say... Pretty sure we were favourites for relegation 2 weeks ago with Reading That was before Tommy kept a clean sheet last night.
Dalek2003 Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 The bookies tend to be right, hope they are wrong on the relgeation predictions.
Matthew Le God Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 The bookies tend to be right, hope they are wrong on the relgeation predictions. Good thing you aren't a bookie with your 17th place prediction last season. You'd be quickly made bankrupt!
Bearsy Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 The odds is fluctuating wildly innit. First we was 12/13, then we was 13/1 and now we is back to 7/1. Did anyone get on while it was 13s?
Neil Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 9/1 with Blue Square, 888 sport, Boyle sports, bet victor and stan james.
SaintBobby Posted 19 July, 2012 Posted 19 July, 2012 The bookies tend to be right, hope they are wrong on the relgeation predictions. At 4/7, the bookies' prediction is that we will have about a 65% chance of staying up. I hope they're right.
