Under Weststand Posted 18 July, 2012 Share Posted 18 July, 2012 Sounded like a good work out tonight. Good for Billy Sharp to get on the score sheet with a hatrick. Also sounded like all the youngsters had a good game tonight.

DrunkenSaint Posted 18 July, 2012 Share Posted 18 July, 2012 At this rate I can see Sharp and JayRod up front together and Lambo on the bench! (; not in this currant formation ;P we're playing a 451 type of formation means only 1 of sharp, JRod and Lambo will start. Chung would probably play on the left with AL on the right but atm Shaw , JWP and Chambers are sounding great. I think this 451 formation will suit us as we do have quite alot of midfielders. NA could possibly rotate the lone striker for home and away games to keep everyone fresh. Just hope NA will see that these youngsters could infact bring better results. Atm JWP should start against Man City he's sounding fantastic.
VectisSaint Posted 18 July, 2012 Share Posted 18 July, 2012 So, good to see Chung is training, even if not playing yet, must be close to fitness.

SNSUN Posted 18 July, 2012 Share Posted 18 July, 2012 At this rate I can see Sharp and JayRod up front together and Lambo on the bench! (; I've always thought Lambert would do a great job in a midfield role, akin to Mark Hughes in his stint with us. I know Rickie played there earlier in his career too - could always be an option for the future.

I know Rickie played there earlier in his career too - could always be an option for the future. Not sure it'd be worth it, not like his legs going will make that much of a difference to his play - although I suppose he wouldn't be able to run the channels as much. Perhaps then a midfield captaincy role awaits Lambert in a couple of years time?
St Chalet Posted 18 July, 2012 Share Posted 18 July, 2012 A bit like asking Roger Federer to quit Singles and just play mixed-doubles, madness. I am quite sure SRLk will line up as a striker this year.

Third Division South Days Posted 19 July, 2012 Share Posted 19 July, 2012 NA particularly praised Jack Stephens performance as CB. Joined us as a RB but as NC will probably be first choice in that position could be that NA feels he may need only bring in only one more CB. Ok we're going to have to be a bit careful with initials going forward, it was bad enough when we used to confuse Rickie Lambert and R Lowe, now mixing up Nicola with Natty will make things more confusing again. trousers Posted 19 July, 2012 Share Posted 19 July, 2012 Sharp looks very chubby on the highlights video. I just watched it. I'm inclinded to use 'stocky' rather than 'chubby'. I think there's more muscle than fat on his frame to be fair...

From the pictures on the os I thought he looked like he had slimed down. He is no more 'stocky' than Rooney is though, and he has been know to do alright from time to time
Saint J 77 Posted 19 July, 2012 Share Posted 19 July, 2012 I noticed Steve Davis didn't make an appearance last night though. I guess that means he still can't official play for us yet. Its annoying that Rangers are being so petty as it means he isn't going to be match fit come the start of the season of this goes on much longer. Adkins said that had Davis been fit (he is still recovering from minor groin operation) then he would have played on Saturday in the Memorial Cup. Unless you think Adkins is a liar, then Davis can play for Saints in friendlies.

Chill and read back what I actually said. I was just wondering if it had anything to do with him not playing? I wasn't implying anything more than perhaps he still isn't able to play for us, due to the issue with Rangers. I was not saying anything as drastic as the deal had collapsed, was I?
