have you never looked across the Solent?

Well I miss looking across at Fawley from Vicky Park, especially in the dark when the lights are on, but thats because I am a Sotonian; I doubt it would appeal to third parties (my wife thinks its hideous).

Sadly no - must perhaps try that next time I´m in town?

From the Eastern Docks across to Fawley is particularly striking, especially with the sun setting behind Marchwood incinerator.

They must have a hell of a baggage allowance on the plane to get those "Saints" banners which have been hung around the perimeter on board. :D

Is that our Tommy in goal?

No, its our £6.5m 'triallist' in goal. It was meant to be kept under wraps but yet another camera happy hotel employee has blown it open.

Forecast is the one cycling off in the background having taken the lad's morning orders for woodbines, pies ,and Special Brew to scupper the curfew.

Is that some sort of wood working Class?? Can you make us a new goalkeeper or just board the goal up?

Well, a few lengths of 2x4 and a few sheets of MDF would be more effective. Not sure Man City will be too chuffed about the nail holes in their goal posts though.

I fret that our back-up goalie is STILL Tommy Forecast.

Nige said they would be bringing in a goalkeeper. There's nowt any of us can do in the mean time, so I really wouldn't worry your pretty little head about it Alps. Life is too short. There are more important things to worry about in life. :)

Do you think Tommy Fourpast can ride a bike?. I suspect he dropped it just after the photo was taken.

Could be a completely pedantic g*t and say that it is Lake Leman in the background rather than Lake Geneva, but I won't....

Is that a joke, or do you not know that its a different name for the same lake?

Pathetic effort.

Proper pedants know full well it's actually Lac Léman.

No - some Vaudois are very sensitive about it - Lake Geneva is a small part around (ironically) Geneva. The lake is Lac Leman... If you fancy a beer anytime in Lausanne, then let me know and I'll invite along some anally-retentive people who will be happy to bore you for hours about this!!

They should have just gone to Windermere, then we'd have none of this nonesense.

And, of course, we all know that Lake Windemere isn't actually a lake... :p

The Tale of Tom Forecast.

It does have the ring of Beatrix Potter about it.

Yep it's a mere, hence the name. I think Winder was a viking, can't remember.
