Saint Malc Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 We're in the Premier League when it comes to beer prices now. I paid £4.30 for a small bottle of Singha yesterday which, I think, is quite a lot. My friend paid £2.20 for a hot chocolate. At least the queues at half-time should be shorter from now on.

Don't we have enough varieties of beer brewed in Uk or even Europe? If you think its expensive then maybe consider that you are paying for transport costs, import duty and also to support. CHelsea a nd Manure who ade partly sponsored by this brewer.

The half time pint is essential to avoid becoming semi-hungover during the 2 hours you're out of the pub on a matchday.

Sol was hugely popular in the UK for years despite being one of the worst and cheapest beers in Mexico - their Carling.

I doubt very much it's made in Thailand now, like most of these foreign beers it's probably made under licence in Luton or some other nondescript town but still retaining the premium price.

Stocked up for the boxing on Saturday night and my mates went for a crate of Carlsberg (horrible stuff). I paid twice what they did so I could enjoy a premium, imported Russian beer. Much better.

Sure most of the lagers brewed in the UK are awful. My point was that if you are going to pay extra for a premium imported product make sure it is actually premium and imported.
