Saint86 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 After seeing him at the memorial cup yesterday, all I can think is that we need a new Goalie, ASAP. I mean what, he slipped over and faceplanted twice, missed the ball completely twice, poor handling, chested instead of caught geranimo's goal. I don't want to be harsh on the lad but honestly it was like watching a man's soul be destroyed over 45min, his confidence (which must have been low to start with) will now be at rock bottom. I mean it was hysterical how bad he actually was :/
S-Clarke Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I don't think yesterday's showing increased the need for a GK or 2, that was always the ultimate priority. He's awful, surprised I saw people sticking up for him yesterday. The goal he let in was just embarrassing, horrendous.
Golden Balls Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 He was getting a caning on twitter throughout the game. It was fantastic. Tosser
whizzpop Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I don't think he looked as bad as what I thought he would have been, after hearing so many bad things about him. The plus points for me is he failed against a decent striker, and nearly got to the fourth penalty too. When he kicked out of his area it remained inside the pitch, i've seen a lot worse.
AussieDog Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 After letting 1 goal in during normal time and 4 penalties, shouldn't we be calling him tommy Fivepast now?
ottery st mary Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 To be fair to Tommy;) I think he is a centre half and not a goalkeeper...Hampshire league standard ..maybe:p I hate be unkind to a Saints player... but would be very surprised if he gets another chance... Those who have sympathy with him......sorry boyz and girlz....he is not a league goalie and never will be... some fink happened to him at Spurs or when he arrived at Saints...maybe he moved from CB to GK thinking he was helping Saints out with their shortage of shot stoppers. 5 year contract......HORRENDOUS:uhoh:
Crazy Diamond Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 His positioning for Gervinho's goal was absolutely incredible. That deaf, dumb and blind boy, sure can't keep in goal. I seriously think we should get Dexter Blackstock back to give Tommy a run for his money. He's an Antiguan international after all.
PaulGilchrist_76 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Surely an academy 'keeper would have been better. Anyone would have been better.
JackFrost Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I hope scouts from Orlando City were there, given that they signed Anthony Pulis
Clifford Nelson Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I think it is without doubt what will happen to him at the end of this season when his contract expires. In the meantime I will keep my mouth shut about him and await the inevitable. On a personal level he doesn't deserve the abuse better than Guly. Nobody deserves it, and since he never appears in a competitive match it is a bit of an irrelevance.
Golden Balls Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Surely an academy 'keeper would have been better. Anyone would have been better. This. Would have been a good experience for a young keeper
JackFrost Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Forecast has made 4 appearances in the FL for Grimsby. His debut was described as "one of the most shockingly inept displays the Football League has ever seen." and his loan spell was ended early even though the 1st choice Grimsby keeper was still injured. I think that sums it up really, hope Lowe is still happy.

Saint J 77 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Does anyone really think TF will be our number 2 goalkeeper by the start of the season? I'm hopeful we'll have a new keeper in place before the pre season is over.

I'm hopeful we'll have a new keeper in place before the pre season is over. I think we'll have 2 new GK's by the start of the season, and Forecast will be nowhere to be seen ever again.

I'm hopeful we'll have a new keeper in place before the pre season is over. It would be complete madness and even if it did happen and KD got injured, we'd still have one of the PL's most comedic moments ever with Forecast even if it was at our expense. Also we have Adkins in charge now, who isn't likely to make a George Burley-esqe decision and "keep his faith" in Forecast.
doubleonothing Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I hope scouts from Orlando City were there, given that they signed Anthony Pulis Not sure. I think the 3rd tier of professional football in the USA might be a bit above his level....
Saint J 77 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I think we'll have 2 new GK's by the start of the season, and Forecast will be nowhere to be seen ever again. That goal he conceded yesterday was a shocker. We would have won if it wasn't for that. We can't afford to drop cheap points like that in the premier league. I'm pretty sure you are right, he will not even be 3rd choice come the start of the season.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Some quotes from Grimsby fans: "6'6 no less, Just 6 inches off being 7ft tall. And lobbed from close range. I remember it happening he finally did the simple thing and raised his hands over his head to catch the ball a whole 3 SECONDS after the ball went in. It's the worst performance in goal i have ever witnessed including Sunday league games." "Terrible goalkeeper, how did he make it to play professional football, i honestly think that im a better goalkeeper, did any town fans see him, make a save?" "We've certainly carried some poor keepers in our time. That lob (was it a header?) was undoubtedly the worst keeping i've seen for a long time." "When he came here wasnt he lauded as a potential England's number 1 for the future? Unfortunately for the lad he's probably the worst keeper I've seen for town and I've seen a fair few." "I have never seen a professional footballer as bad as him. " "What rating would you give forecasts goalkeeping ability? I would say 1" "What's it out of? 100?" "Just 10, i don't think i will ever see a worse keeper than him" "The posts are better at keeping goals out than he is. At least they make a couple of saves per match." He's absolutely sh!t and I hate that he's still at our club!
Wade Garrett Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 He is absolute crap, and would seriously struggle to get a game in the Wessex League. But, fair play to him, a 5 year contract on a few grand a week. If I were him, I would be planning for a life outside the game. Maybe he'll get a central contract with the England Cricket team next.
Boris Karloff Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Why does everyone hate him so much? Is it because he goes out a lot? His performance was much better than Bart's against Blackpool yet Bart didn't get so much stick. I'm not defending him, just curious.
landford.saint Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 I've had the misfortune to see Fourpast play on more than one occasion, and he is trulely as bad as everyone makes out, yesterday was one of his better performances. That is how bad he is. My mother is better than him and she is 84 and confined to her chair.
Gambol2K9 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Why does everyone hate him so much? Is it because he goes out a lot? His performance was much better than Bart's against Blackpool yet Bart didn't get so much stick. I'm not defending him, just curious. Because not only is he a terrible keeper, he's also an arrogant ****.

It was posted on here at the time, that during a loan spell at Bromley ,yes, Bromley, he was confined to the subs bench.

His performance was much better than Bart's against Blackpool yet Bart didn't get so much stick. I'm not defending him, just curious. Bart had made a few appearances over about five years, and had built up a bit of "credit" as it were. Even though I was relieved to see BB go in the end, it is unfair to compare him with Tommy Nofingers, Bart is in a different stratosphere to this clown. Never the less he will still be in 90 degrees every night of the week telling everyone he's the Southampton goal keeper and made his debut against arsenal. Yes, you only have to see his Faceboojk page to see that TF is a party animal, given his much inflated wage packet you can see why he excels at this.
bowers-sfc Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 If anyone wants to shake the hand of the person that punched tommy forecast on the night out celebrating league 1 promotion, ask for details and il arrange! lol
jawillwill Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Yes, you only have to see his Facebook page to see that TF is a party animal, given his much inflated wage packet you can see why he excels at this. Ha, I've just gone and had a look at this. I've known he isn't the worlds most gifted goalkeeper, but when people has slated him on a personal level I've always given him the benefit of the doubt seeing as I've never met him. But looking at the photos he does seem like a bit of a douche with too much money. He (along with his good mate Darren Kenton) appear to be good, hard working professional sportsmen, drinking a lot of alcohol and smoking shisha (Alpine is probably going ****ing mental about now) and cigars. Oh and posing in Ferraries. Although to be fair to him, he's probably just enjoying the luxury lifestyle while he can.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 If anyone wants to shake the hand of the person that punched tommy forecast on the night out celebrating league 1 promotion, ask for details and il arrange! lol Why did that happen?
Crazy Diamond Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 If anyone wants to shake the hand of the person that punched tommy forecast on the night out celebrating league 1 promotion, ask for details and il arrange! lol Wow. Hilarious.
The9 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 To be honest having seen him, he was at fault for the goal as the only place it was ever going was through his legs and I called it before Gervinho even cut inside (though it was lamped straight at him with a lot of power) but he didn't do much else wrong, kicking was competent, one slip with no-one around and found a teammate with most passes. I still think he's almost certainly crap, but you couldn't really tell that from yesterday. Lots of people just letting their jealousy and his apparent attitude cloud their judgement, I think.
bowers-sfc Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Why did that happen? Out in town, giving it the big one. do you know who I am and stuff, and got all mouthty and just being a ****, and got punched.
Golden Balls Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 Out in town, giving it the big one. do you know who I am and stuff, and got all mouthty and just being a ****, and got punched. He also hit a girl that night. After he got punch his nose was p**sing blood, he started spitting it over randoms, including police. Nice chap. Tosser

supersonic Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 FWIW Jack Stephens (who I thought played well and looks a real prospect) was as much at fault for the goal as Forecast. He wasn't as bad as everyone makes out. I've seen worse GK performances. We do need another keeper and we'll get one.
alpine_saint Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 1 month to go. Our reserve goalie is TOMMY FORECAST. When is it acceptable to panic ?
VectisSaint Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 1 month to go. Our reserve goalie is TOMMY FORECAST. When is it acceptable to panic ? September
The9 Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 18th August would be panic time for me, assuming Kelv doesn't get injured first. I seriously doubt Nige will get anywhere near that time though.
jjsaint Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 1 month to go. Our reserve goalie is TOMMY FORECAST. When is it acceptable to panic ? 19 August: With Kelvin in goal, we are beaten 6-1 by Man City. 25 August: Home game to Wigan. It's 1-1 and they have the edge. In the 52nd minute Kelvin sustains an injury and has to go off. THEN it's time to panic.
SuperSAINT Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 1 month to go. Our reserve goalie is TOMMY FORECAST. When is it acceptable to panic ? You're right. Lets rush out and sign anyone.
St Lej Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 I'm going to start panicking now I think, whilst having a pop at anyone who dared suggest I trust the management to do their jobs and get a decent keeper in. I will then go off on a total rage about how nasty this forum had become.
SuperMikey Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 If we signed Gazzaniga and perhaps a good prospect from a higher level (Ben Amos, Adam Bogdan etc) I would be very happy. I think that's what we'd be working towards.
alpine_saint Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 You're right. Lets rush out and sign anyone. Who suggested that then ?
Ivan Oar Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 to be honest having seen him, he was at fault for the goal as the only place it was ever going was through his legs and i called it before gervinho even cut inside (though it was lamped straight at him with a lot of power) but he didn't do much else wrong, kicking was competent, one slip with no-one around and found a teammate with most passes. SuperSAINT Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 Who suggested that then ? No-one. Just not worth worrying about. We're after 1, possibly 2 keepers. That means Forecast is going to be nowhere near the 1st XI.
Badger Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 If we signed Gazzaniga and perhaps a good prospect from a higher level (Ben Amos, Adam Bogdan etc) I would be very happy. I think that's what we'd be working towards. Is Gazzaniga not a good prospect then ? Although from a lower level and unproven admittedly. I am expecting we will sign a young prospect, and a steady reliable, but not spectacular ,back up.
Saint J 77 Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 Whatever your opinion is of Tommy, he himself must realise that his days are numbered. He must of heard Adkins comments about bringing in 1 or maybe 2 goalkeepers. So he will know deep down he is surplus to requirements. He is just running down his contract, milking it for all its worth. He really is the last part of our dark days. I've nothing against him Personally, just don't feel it can benefit the club in any way to keep on somebody who is clearly not good enough at this level, or even the footlball league level for that matter.
