ladysaint Posted 15 July, 2012 Share Posted 15 July, 2012 Anyone know what is happening with this, was supposed to have been the Saints supporters club when we moved from the Dell obviously when we moved directors of the club at that time overlooked the supporters club so after some fans complained the space at the back of the stadium in the Kingsland was freed up for the supporters club. Last year I think membership was in the region of £25 for the season. Yesterday heard that it may be turned into a pub open only on match days. Seems all the money is being spent in executive and corporate areas and we still don't have a decent supporters club.
Toomer Posted 15 July, 2012 Share Posted 15 July, 2012 I was a DJ at the old club at The Dell around 1978 - 1981 on a Friday night used, to have some good nights with local bands and comedians. People like Rick Brown (R.I.P) and Bob Carolgees (SP) him with Spit the dog played there.
batterseasaint Posted 15 July, 2012 Share Posted 15 July, 2012 Shame that they never managed to transfer that special little place at the Dell to St mArys. I have some very happy memories growing up in the club at the Dell, including having a few beers with Pete Rodrigues in there. We went to the Dell Cafe bar a few times when we first moved but it wasn't the same.... Felt like an airport lounge.

As Beatlesaint says the old club was a great place some good times were had and players used to come and join the fans after a game, shame the younger generation of fans are not given the chance to experience this. Golden Balls Posted 15 July, 2012 Share Posted 15 July, 2012 I was too young to really appreciate the old club. My dad used to take me in there after games and man of the match would always come down for a quick interview. I got to present the Champagne to Paul Jones and Wayne Bridge. Seems the location and atmosphere was a lot better than the new club.
