Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Lovely article. Always brings a tear to my eye.
Sour Mash Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2173219/Billy-Sharp-exclusive-Baby-Luey-fighter.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Good article that, really brings it home how much Sharp has gone through in the last year.
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Losing a child must be one of the hardest, probably the hardest thing a person could ever go through in life. I cannot even begin to imagine what I would do. The biggest respect to Billy and his girlfriend. They are facing it with honesty, courage and fortitude beyond their years. Let's all try to support Billy next year as he continues to go through a grieving process which will probably never truly end.
dune Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 It's a sad story, but it's good that Billy has used his position to bring some good out of it with the foundation. I'm sure he and Jade will make great parents in the future whether they are their own children or adopted.
Thedelldays Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Great article And in a football front Sharp was literally a goal machine in the run-in Amazing form
Danish Saint Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 You just know Sharp is the type of player, you really want to be playing for your club. Horrible story and chain of event, but they're both going about it with dignity and grace.
Patrick Bateman Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Outstanding article, very hard to read, but what they went through was horrific. Seem like a really nice couple and the LJS Foundation is a fantastic idea as well to raise awareness. On a more light-hearted note, I really like that T-Shirt and I ordered one as I liked it and it is a great cause. I was wearing it when I left Seattle in May to come back home, but I got stopped at the airport security by a border control person and a copper and I had to explain what the t-shirt meant!?!? WTH? I think they must have thought it was something dodgy, but a weird experience. So don't wear your t-shirt in a US airport!

Don't want to go off topic on this thread, but that is truly amazing and just about sums up why I can't be bothered going to the US anymore. Plenty of other more welcoming places to go to.
fareham saint phil Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Every parents ultimate nightmare and makes you appreciate your own. Full respect to the both of them and good luck for the continued success of the LJS foundation

That'll be a good opportunity to show our support.
austsaint Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 The saddest of stories but as others have said a great tribute to the courage and dignity of Billy and Jade in the most horrible of circumstances.
JustMike Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Can't imagine for 1 second what that must have felt like and I hope I never have to. Immense courage from Billy and Jade, hope as fans we can show support for them both.
Tiverton Saint Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 A really sad story, like others have said it puts things into perspec tive and shows what a really good guy we have playing for us!
trousers Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Had to stop reading that half way through. Heartbreaking.
trousers Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 The Spurs home game on the 28th Oct will be hard for him. That'll be a good opportunity to show our support. Was just thinking the same. Maybe as many fans as possible could wear the Luey Sharp foundation t-shirt for that game. Would be a great gesture of support for him.
dubai_phil Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 It's a story that has been published many times in many places, and every time it cuts me up. What inner strength they must have to keep going like that, it's clear that Dean Saunders was a huge help to him and respect to him for that. The surprise in that article? The heartfelt comments section at the bottom from fans in many places, and the comparison between Sharp & the tainted goods that play for England.
patred44 Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 The Spurs home game on the 28th Oct will be hard for him. That'll be a good opportunity to show our support. Perhaps we should turn up wearing these http://deadlegacy.com/clothing/t-shirts/ljs-foundation-t-shirt/
trousers Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Perhaps we should turn up wearing these http://deadlegacy.com/clothing/t-shirts/ljs-foundation-t-shirt/ Yep, those are the ones I mentioned above

dune Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Yep, those are the ones I mentioned above 25 quid is a bit steep, even though it's for charity.
Mewsta Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Perhaps we should turn up wearing these http://deadlegacy.com/clothing/t-shirts/ljs-foundation-t-shirt/ That's what I'll be wearing!
Saint Garrett Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 25 quid is a bit steep, even though it's for charity. 1. Its for charity. 2. You have 15 weeks to put aside £25 quid.... 3. It's actually a really nice t-shirt.
Golden Balls Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Really moving article. As fans, we really should do something for that Spurs game.
St Chalet Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 I'll happily wear mine! Going to order one, how do the sizes come up larger, smaller or as expected?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Really moving article. As fans, we really should do something for that Spurs game. Bucket collection? Get someone to contact his partner through the charity and the club and collect and then take the buckets to reception before KO? Or see if the club could do collections in the concourse?
Saint Garrett Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Going to order one, how do the sizes come up larger, smaller or as expected? Erm, hard to say as they're not a normal fit really. I am normally a large (just) but I ended up sending my large back and got an XL in the end. They're quite slim fitting (or im just getting my podge on!) Bucket collection? Get someone to contact his partner through the charity and the club and collect and then take the buckets to reception before KO? Or see if the club could do collections in the concourse? They had a bucket collection at Doncaster Vs Saints last season and it seemed to get quite a few Saints putting their hands in their pockets. Would be a good idea.
emerson massey Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 As a relatively new father myself, I can only begin to imagine how traumatic this must have been. So sad, but acting with absolute dignity
Mabes Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Bit steep at £25.. yeh nice one dune... as Alan Brazil would say " you tube " !!! T shirts are slim fit... buy a size bigger than you normally would wear!
SNSUN Posted 14 July, 2012 Posted 14 July, 2012 Heart wrenching story and the fact he has to endure the retarded crapheads of society every day that mock him for it is even worse. I hope he finds peace. Success in the Premier League would be just desserts for him.
