Anyone Concerned?

I'm pretty concerned. I don't see us surviving with the current crop of players. We desperately need defenders with experience at the highest level.

Agreed Sidney, but I reckon the management are on it. In Nigel we trust, etc....he didn't steer us through back-to-back promotions just to preside over us going straight back down again. If Nigel thought that was a serious possibility because of a lack of financial backing he probably would have legged it by now.

For those claiming we should buy players with Premier League experience can you name some realistic and good players we should be after?

IMO, we will be more than fine. We are buying good players and that is ultimately what you need. Premier League experience is slightly over rated. I'd rather some of our players than some of the guff in the Premier League right now. I see the risk but I'm confident if we get it right it will pay off.

Again though, it would be interesting to read some names...

Jarvis

Rodallega (Although he's now taken)

Scott Sinclair - Out of contract next summer.

Hoilett

Just a few off the top of my head who all have experience at this level, yet would fit into the type of player we're wanting to attract.

Meh.

Jarvis, OK, but it sounds as though Wolves are holding out for a lot of money. He'll probably leave towards the end of the window for a more realistic price. Maybe we'll be in for him then. Doesn't he prefer to play on the left anyway? Hardly a position we are struggling in anyway.

Rodallega really isn't that good. He flatters to deceive. Hardly proflic (in a **** poor team for half of every season, fair enough) but he couldn't even get in the Wigan side at the end of it last year. Moses would be much better.

Sinclair wouldn't want to tie himself to a 3/4 year deal when he could have a good season next year and have his move to Liverpool sewn up on a free.

Hoilet is supposedly holding out for ridiculous wages. Isn't his Dad his agent? That's why he's on such a short term contract for Blackburn because his dad refused to sign him to a long term one so he could get a good deal out of him now. He'll go to QPR I suspect as they are stupid enough to give into his dads demands.

I'm not entirely sure what their experiences would bring us either really? 2 of them have been relegated, 1 struggles every season and the other has had 1 good season in it. When people say they want experience, what exactly do they expect a player to be able to do?

You all may mock the OP but the only club that has come up in recent times and cemented their place in the Premiership is Stoke and what did they do? Buy decent, experienced players.

Higginbotham, Delap, Crouch, Beattie, Fuller, any more ex Saints We certainly gave them a lot for there managers son

A lot of people were saying that this time last year.Thing is, we just don't know how many more gears most of our current players have in the box. I thought that Lambert may not make the step up to the NPC but it took about 30 minutes for him to prove me wrong. Still think we need a new goalie though.
