Seaford Saint Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Does anyone know whether I can pay on the day for this. I am hosting 2 kids from the Ukraine and due to the probability of bad weather we have cancelled our seaside visit tomorrow and this gives me the opportunity to take my 2 kids to St Mary's. I tried to buy tickets on line but couldn't....something to do with them be unable to deliver the tickets. I spoke to someone in the ticket office who thought we could buy on the day. It would be great to get them to a game....... Any guidance gratefully received
supersonic Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Yes you can, providing there are tickets left. I phoned the TO on Tuesday and there response was "plenty left"
The9 Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 And by "plenty" they probably mean "about 30000".

Maybe they might finally catch on that nobody likes this format. At least invite another team over and spread it over the weekend with 2x 90min games per day. Truesaint Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Take them down early and meet a few players as they arrive. Hosted a coupe of kids from Belarus a few years back and did the same with them. They absolutly loved it getting their programs signed, and having their pictures taken with players. The players were top class as well and had plenty of time for them too, and really made their day. Its all they talked about for the month they were with me and whilst on the phone to their parents back home.

DaveyR Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 I'll be there! And that's all that counts. If I see anyone with a foam hand or silly hat on I shall ask for their names and report back to Turkish!
Pugwash Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Don't think there's anything wrong with the format, personally. Three good sides at the start of season training, a bit of competition, photo and autograph opportunities for the kids, plus the Torch. Gotta be worth £15 or so of anyone's money, i.e. when bought with the Udinese and Ajax full games.
This Charming Man Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 Will NC be carrying the torch? I'd pay good money to see that. Strutting around the pitch in a stylish suit after refusing to adopt the standard Olympic torch attire.
Pugwash Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 NC can wear whatever he wants, he's Italian (sort of).

You mean £47 (plus booking fee) of someone's money when bought with the Udinese and Ajax games (which plenty of people will miss one of due to the holiday period); or £25 (plus booking fee) of someone's money for Saturday ? The 3 match deal is almost decent value at about £16/£17 a ticket, but even knowing I'm probably going to the other 2 matches (which can be bought in two separate months at £20 (plus booking fee)) I can't even justify spending the extra £7 up front for a glorified kickabout, would much rather save the money for a trip to the Etihad or Emirates. The9 Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 10k sold so far. Would expect a decent walk-up too. Guessing a LOT more people got on board for the £47 deal then. The walk-up will be significantly impacted by the weather, which will be crappy again.

Bearing in mind you'll be spending £35 or more for a ticket next season, then yes it's good value. Buying the £47 deal you only pay the booking fee once as well, if it worries you that much. Unless you really want to waste time and money going to the ticket office to buy with cash, rather than having them post the tickets for £1.50. I've already got my tickets for next season, they're £32.50-ish per match. For competitive Premier League matches, as opposed to three halves of kickabouts 2 weeks into preseason training with us not having signed about half the team. And yeah, I have so far only paid the Cortese Tax once, for my ST this season when it was unavoidable. I ALWAYS go to the ground (or get a mate to go), and won't park in the car park now either. They also won't post the tickets now anyway due to the proximity, so a bit moot now.

But £32.50-ish in this case gets me the three halves, plus an early look at the new players and kit, the Torch and a game against Ajax (plus Udinese for another £14.50). I have driven to the ground before (and had free parking) if I've been going that way, but otherwise mileage and time cost usually isn't worth it against a £1.50 postage charge. Essruu Posted 13 July, 2012 Share Posted 13 July, 2012 My tickets are have Block seat and row numbers on them Ok, Block 10 must be all the comps and comp extra purchases then, as mine all have '0' as the seat number - ie. sit where you like in Block 10!
