S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 There are some really bitter comments on that sky story. Someone says he is wasting his talent signing for Saints. I felt like telling some of them where to go. Another comment says we will be down by Christmas. Can't wait to see Saints prove them wrong Yeah I saw some of those. ''Why sign for them, you'll be playing in the NPC again next year''. Just ignorant fans really, and the comments also go to show what a great signing it is for us as a hell of alot of other fans wanted him at their club. I'd go as far to say this is a bit of 'coup.'
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 And a gem from one of our lot [h=4]phil says July 17, 2012 3:55pm[/h] Am i really reading right a force like Swansea and norwich.2 team that will struggle near the bottom with us.We now have loads of kids and very little prem experience. We need to stop signing for the futre and start signing for now.
thorpie the sinner Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Very positive news. Looks like (as i was told) that Gunter is going to Reading as they were too late to get Clyne, as they tried to hijack it yesterday (hence the little delay). So please can I be added to the list of ITK posters??? I liked you so much better when you weren't one of the elitist mob Clarkey!!!!!!!
St Chalet Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I've got nothing to hide, doubt he'd care much either! Anthony Smith, part of the sports desk @ one of Readings local papers. Poss the chronicle, not 100% sure. But that's probably all I'll be in the know on this year...! I know him! Lovely bloke. He was the Reading correspondent for the Post from memory.
St Chalet Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I know him! Lovely bloke. He was the Reading correspondent for the Post from memory. Just checked, he is at the Chronicle.

S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I liked you so much better when you weren't one of the elitist mob Clarkey!!!!!!! . I won't be in that mob for long!
pap Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Especially about Scarlett Johansen topless. I preferred:- someone is missing a gem here. i genuinely believe that the most accomplished all round player ive seen for a long time at palace wouldnt be suprised if he had a great season and the top boys end up paying big money for him in a couple years time
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I preferred:- Nice read that. Quite a few are saying things along those lines as well, even non-palace fans who have watched him. I think we're getting a gem.
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 IF we get him... I'm pretty confident we will to be honest, and that's just a positive hunch. No in the know ******** on that.
Saint Garrett Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 saints_fc guy @crucialguy @reluctantnicko cheers for the reply. Agree on Clyne, very excited about him. Any more on Butter out of interest? or Butland for that matter 41m Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko @crucialguy Buttner's third party thing obviously not straightforward. Butland pricemay rise or fall at Olympics. U handled Clyne deal well

Puddings and Monkeys Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 this can't be true we struggle to get deals done etc Yes, and no one wants to deal with us apparently.
Colinjb Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Looking genuinely exciting now, would it be considered a coup for this to come off?
Saint Charlie Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Looking genuinely exciting now, would it be considered a coup for this to come off? Yes, very good player who was genuinely linked with Man Utd not long ago. Only 21 too.
SaintNeil90 Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 People are talking as if he has signed. All we've had is a few 'set to sign' reports. For what its worth, Buttner was 'set to sign' a couple of weeks ago and he still hasn't actually signed!
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 was he in the NPC team of the year..? Yep, RB of the year iirc.
Thedelldays Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Yep, RB of the year iirc. so that would be kelvin Clyne Lallana Lambert Rodriguez not a bad effort
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 so that would be kelvin Clyne Lallana Lambert Rodriguez not a bad effort Now, if we can get Phillips and Curtis Davies as well...that's another 2 from the team of the year!

krissyboy31 Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 so that would be kelvin Clyne Lallana Lambert Rodriguez not a bad effort Need to sign Curtis Davis, Matt Phillips and Peter Whittingham now.
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Need to sign Curtis Davis, Matt Phillips and Peter Whittingham now. On the subject of Whittingham, Fulham had a 'significant' bid rejected today. Cardiff have some real backing now, so he will cost an absolute fortune.
Saint Charlie Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 On the subject of Whittingham, Fulham had a 'significant' bid rejected today. Cardiff have some real backing now, so he will cost an absolute fortune. Not the sort of player we need either, need someone who can beat a man in midfield!
S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Not the sort of player we need either, need someone who can beat a man in midfield! Agree. Someone who can play right wing, or ''in the hole'' bursting from midfield as a goalscoring AMC. Basically we need a significant upgrade on Chaplow. (that's not doing him a disservice as he's been terrific for us, and I'm sure he'll still be involved next year - but we need better than him to progress further)

Thedelldays Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Which is why you have to question why we;re not going in for Michu as he sounds pretty ideal for these roles. isn't guly this..?
Saint Charlie Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Which is why you have to question why we;re not going in for Michu as he sounds pretty ideal for these roles. Could be stacks of reasons. There has been little reliable reports to say we have held an interest, it's the bandwagon on here that's done that. We are 'linked' with loads of players and because he seemed interesting people here kept bringing it up despite no real reports this summer.
The Cat Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Cardiff have some real backing now, so he will cost an absolute fortune. Not sure that's true. Their new owners seem a bit mental. This article on a recent fans meeting makes for interesting reading. http://myonlycardiff.com/2012/06/27/cardiff-city-season-ticket-refund-meeting-270612/

The9 Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 (edited) What's all that 3D wares b@ll@cks at the bottom of the page Interesting - I had an auto-redirect to YouTube via 3D wares today that stopped me coming on this site at work, mentioned it to teh Saintsweb bosses but apparently an isolated incident... View From The Top Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 Sweet jesus Just like Leicester they've been "loaned" the money. Foxes are paying 9% interest to their owners for their loans.

They've had it, to put it bluntly.

Just makes you realise we are more than lucky to have what we have. At worst we have a micro manager in charge of the club... Which is not even a scratch on those people

Saint_Ash Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I got a massive virus from this site that killed my pc. Took it guys 4 hours to fix it. I hope it doesn't happen again.
Quickfire Double Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 So that's the hold up: Clyne was redirected to Cardiff by YouTube 3D Wares, realised they're farked, and is on his way back to sign with Saints within the next 48 hours?!
dannysfc Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I am now thinking that I hope he comes tbh as that would be Good But am confused as to what position he plays at whether it's RB or somewhere else so clarification would be Good Please!?! Thanks! COYR!!!

S-Clarke Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 [video=youtube;i-Ejyxv6U6A] Seems quite a grounded chap, although I'm struggling to focus on Clyne in the interview as there is quite a distraction on the left.
The9 Posted 17 July, 2012 Posted 17 July, 2012 I am reliably informed that the virus/redirect issue has been solved by The Management.
St.Patrik Posted 18 July, 2012 Posted 18 July, 2012 Here we go - page 7 - I say he will sign on page 8 so keep en coming now : )
