Think I will wait until I see an announcement on the Saints site, if we do/don't sign anyone. I'm getting bored with this now. Same goes for Buttner saga.

@reluctantnicko: Clyne will get done. No probs wih wages. Fee close to being done. Saints have offered 2.5m. Decent sum.

 

Seems to have been like this for a while now though. Just needs to get the boxes ticked by the sounds of it.

Seems quite a grounded chap, although I'm struggling to focus on Clyne in the interview as there is quite a distraction on the left.

Can't see why not? Get him signed and flown out there to watch the lads tonight and start training tomorrow? Wouldn't be too much to ask surely?

Didn't Butterfield do that when he signed a few years ago so he played in the final friendly in Switzerland... (so I would expect anyone to sign whilst the team is away to get the same choice)

I think we are all getting a little bored and frustrated at the lack of transfer activity. It was like this last summer but we got a few decent signings in the end. Patience is a virtue apparently. So sit tight, I'm pretty sure we will get in the right players in before the pre season ends.

I might wander up to France on Friday morning, it's about 2 and a half hours, pitch the tent and wander down to have a look. It's a nice part of the world so no great sacrifice on behalf of the board. I've always wanted to be ITK even if I then know he's not there..

That's the thing - you never know, even if you get an answer. Is the remark ITK, or pseudo-ITK, a wind-up, or just a wild guess.

According to Nixon the deal is close to being done. Can't see any hitches stopping it from happening.

It's because we are really naive in the transfer market and are too complacent. Our resident transfer experts on here keep telling us that. Just look at Reading. I really wish it was us signing world class young and hungry players like Shorey and Mariappa and Guthrie. Unfortunately, our management seem unable to pull it off

Our experts keep telling us that there is an issue with our ability to complete deals. This is confounded by what Reading are doing. Each time they bring in a prem mercenary like Pog or a class CB from Watford, it's like a dagger in the heart of our aspirations and ability.

@solentsport: Seems that reports about Nathaniel Clyne completing his move to #Saintsfc are slightly premature. Deal not done yet. But will be. #cpfc

 

I'm going to go out now, so when I get back you'd have better damned well have signed him.
