My youngest daughter went on a school trip to Everton FC. The bloke who showed them around gleefully pointed out the massive differences between home and away dressing rooms. The home dressing room is sound-proofed, for example. The away dressing room is deliberately not; he reckoned it intimidates the away players.

The away dressing rooms at SMS once had 6ft mirrors on the inside of the toilet cubical doors, so you could sit and watch yourself excrete before walking out infront of 32,000 people. No idea if they are still there.

Yep, still there as of the end of season game that I played in at least.

Not six foot but in two parts. I thought it was so they could do their bejazzles? ;)

Yep. There's a massive difference between home and away dressing rooms. The mirrors are still there and they place the baths facing each other so the away team have to watch their colleagues washing their bits too! No electric points for them to plug their iPods/docking stations in either. There are benches and hooks for the away team and back-lit, cushioned individiual cubicles for home. The home one is also 2-3 times the size of the away one.

I would think so and in HD. Big screen technology has moved forward a lot since 2001 when the old ones were installed.

Yep, a hell of alot! These will cost an absolute fortune by the way......so nice to know we've got the cash!

Pity an upgrade on the sound system doesn't seem to be on the agenda. Absolutely shocking! Had to wait till I got home to hear what Steeeve, J-Rod and Steven Davis said in their interviews on Saturday.

I think alot of that was down to the lack of a crowd, in 75% empty stadiums the sound will just echo around the empty spaces and it's impossible to pickup, but with a full stadium it's often much clearer. Acoustics in an empty stadium is a nightmare for anyone.

It seems to me to be crap irrespective of whether the stadium is full or empty - the pre-recorded interviews are a waste of time although in fairness you can see them on saintsplayer anyway. I hope they change the pre-match music, that bloody awful medley that includes "recent" classics such as "my Sharona" hardly gets the fans going pre-match. Needs updating.

Christ, yep, that same pre-match medley has been there since 2006 , not really changed much anyway.

I don't know if we'll have that as much next season, as it's a requirement for all teams to come out and 'line up'' to the premier league anthem, so we may see some changes anyway.

Quite agree, especially if it's common practice.

What was so bad about the Dell from an away player's perspective? I quite enjoy a good tale of psychological warfare ( didn't the US use AC/DC and Metallica to wear down Noriega? ) :D

only pegs and seats for 12 players i believe, independant heating which seem to go wrong on a Saturday

We should have a competition, how many songs can you remember from the medley? We need something to get the crowd pumped up - other clubs seem to do it a lot better than us.
