Thedelldays Posted 2 August, 2012 Author Share Posted 2 August, 2012 Alpine, that picture I posted from the paper was sent in by a marine. He has been sent home and it was Infact not their accommodation. It was them waiting to be bussed in one morning or something like that.
Viking Warrior Posted 2 August, 2012 Share Posted 2 August, 2012 Thanks Minty . your correct about me occassionally not putting my thoughts across coherently as oft as I should. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve on occassions Alps . Im not patronising you, that is all too easy for you to make that comment. I stand by what I said you have no clue regards accomodation issues etc you rant on about. However where iI will agree with you is in respect of the politicians. The redundancy letters sad as it is was going to happen whether it was labour or tories. . They are as bad as each other. They are an easy target to make cuts to year on year. Look at the labour governments waste on nimrod. look at all those procurement folk who have wasted millions. At the cost of what out of date kit and cuts in the proper armed forces. have a debate about tha and I will be with you but dont bring into the arena about the security of the olympics into the occassion. Re afghan, yes sadly some folk will not becoming home alive. Lots of servicemen have lost their lives during training exercises as well. But heres the real issue for me Alps. You would have a genuine cause to crow about if you new the extent of the serious casualties we and the coalition forces are sustaining on a daily basis. That does not get reported. my betting is the MOD bods and politicians are dumbing that down . When the paralympics start it is my believe that many of those will be injured ex servicemen from around the globe. Now theres a thought lets have an olympic type event for all those servicement than have been injured serving their respective countries.
Viking Warrior Posted 2 August, 2012 Share Posted 2 August, 2012 (edited) There are a lot of lads cramped on HMS ocean. That has ****ed off some folk and it would be appear to be wherethe comment was made about having better accomodation in afghan came from. Its not in some dingy car park. How big is HMS Ocean dell days Just heard from a friend You whose looking after Coppers in 2 lovely Caravan Parks in Weymouth, they are receiving £80 extra a day and the ******s are still wingeing.!!!!!!!!!!!! It seems that everyone is on the take from the olympics (except the armed forces) , bus drivers, tube drivers, politicians and now the old bill Edited 2 August, 2012 by Viking Warrior

Viking Warrior Posted 3 August, 2012 Share Posted 3 August, 2012 Oh Alps you just dont get it do you. The friend I refer to owns the caravan site that the coppers are staying at. The armed forces are not complaining only the police. You really are a numpty Alps , I support you one moment about the hangers on and you still come out with futile comments by the way I have other military friends who have family members who are in the forces who are deployed to the Olympics here are there comments My son-in law is with the RLC at the Old Trafford area. He has not mentioned any complaints. The most important thing is the public are really impressed with the way the military are carrying out their duties - with great pride and a good attitude. Brother in law is there... Beach volleyball .... Jammy git....got to take rough with the smooth I suppose......
alpine_saint Posted 3 August, 2012 Share Posted 3 August, 2012 Oh Alps you just dont get it do you. The friend I refer to owns the caravan site that the coppers are staying at. The armed forces are not complaining only the police. You were complaining about the bonuses. And now I hear on here that there are some complaints about the billeting on HMS Ocean. You and TDD need to set in there, set the right example to those jessies. They are obviously not TDD and VK standard of soldiership.
Viking Warrior Posted 3 August, 2012 Share Posted 3 August, 2012 Oh dear Alpine it is not me who was complaining about the bonuses I was just quoting a friend who owns the Caravan site . he said this not me whose looking after Coppers in 2 lovely Caravan Parks in Weymouth, "they are receiving £80 extra a day and the ******s are still wingeing.!!!!!!!!!!!!" So re read what I have written As for HMS Ocean again that came from a friend who said his son was on HMS Ocean and his son was saying it was very cramped on there. I can understand that . as there are only so many toliets and showers on Ocean unless they have got portaloos in and portable showers, the same as they have in Afgan. Tose showers are brilliant by the way Alps As for your last comment Alps as I said earlier you have not got a clue what Delldays or I experienced in the forces. Its not one rule for one set of military personnel and another set for the other group. We all muck in together its called comraderie. something you should aquaint yourself with. alpine_saint Posted 3 August, 2012 Share Posted 3 August, 2012 Once again, since VW seems to be suffering a lack of self-awareness : It seems that everyone is on the take from the olympics (except the armed forces) , bus drivers, tube drivers, politicians and now the old bill Sounds like complaint to me. Anyway, you have now answered that last 10-odd comments with "you havent got a clue", even though you dont remember what you post, so I am going to give this a miss from now on.. doubleonothing Posted 3 August, 2012 Share Posted 3 August, 2012 BTW I spoke to some more troops last night whilst queuing for the Beach Volleyball. Again I got told that it is not as bad as being made out. They were all made up as they were on Beach Volleyball duty and said lots of their colleagues were giving them stick for getting the prized job. Saw loads in the stands in time for the GB women's game.
Viking Warrior Posted 13 August, 2012 Share Posted 13 August, 2012 Excellent to hear lord Coe thank the forces for keeping the city safe throughout the Olympics . As for the numpties who took their case through the courts to have missiles on strategic roof top areas what a waste of money and time snarling up the courts . Not a squeak from them. Completely agree with both points- Our lads did their job with the professionalism and dignity we've come to expect from them.
hypochondriac Posted 14 August, 2012 Share Posted 14 August, 2012 Completely agree with both points- Our lads did their job with the professionalism and dignity we've come to expect from them. alpine_saint Posted 14 August, 2012 Share Posted 14 August, 2012 Looks like you didn't have to get so indignant on their behalf after all... Stupid as well as a troll...our sevicemen and women's professionality and dignity has nothing to do with the way the Government treat them - they continually demonstrate that.
