Big_Bald_Si Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 how has the Steve Davis deal "collapsed"? He signed a 3 year deal, and it was announced on our website. I understand the whole contract dispute malarkey with Rangers newco, but that all sounds like it'll be a formality
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 We've signed Davis. Hth

Raging Bull Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Relax, I'm sure they'll both be fine. Buttner's has been smoothed out & theres probably f all the sweaties can do to stop them or they'd have thought of it sooner.
manji Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Deals for Steve Davis and Buttner are being reported to have collapsed http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/261535/Southampton-suffer-double-deal-blow/ People have got to understand how a lot of paper "reporting" works these days. That "story" has clearly come from some guy sat at a desk at The Star browsing the internet. It has no more accuracy than some of the speculation on here. Saint Charlie Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Whats the point of quoting the Star? Davis will be absolutely fine, Everton have said so re Naismith who is in the exact same situation. Re Buttner who knows - the longer it goes the more unlikely IMO.

Jez Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Same story in the Sun too. All of about 30 words of it, no doubt just repeating what the Star have said.

Wes Tender Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Ah! the Daily Star; a newspaper with a giant reputation in the news industry for the integrity and veracity of its reporting, this article written by a journalist revered by his peers for his intellect and his unassailable grasp of the English language which makes him compulsory reading for the intelligentsia. I therefore believe the article to be unchallengeable
gaz Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Article should be pulled.

Saint J 77 Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 I'm pretty sure the Davis situation will get sorted, otherwise the club would have pulled the articles about him signing on the os. The Buttner deal seems to be another matter. Probably something to do with a either a greedy player or agent. If its the player then I'll be happy for the club to move on to another target. BlakeySFC Posted 11 July, 2012 Share Posted 11 July, 2012 Can't believe people still believe these sensationalist, bulls**t articles from people like the Daily Star/The Sun. Ridiculous
