lordswoodsaints Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Just been told by somebody on the inside that there is a German agent (not secret ww2 type) at the stadium as we speak.....not clear yet who he is representing though???? Anybody got any ideas?
This Charming Man Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Gomez? Ribery? Reus? Huntelaar? Lewandowski?
saint.tom.clancy Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 I have it on good authority that it's for Mario Gomez.
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Don't panic, don't panic! Let me deal with the German agent.
Saint Charlie Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 I have it on good authority that it's for Mario Gomez. Its not. He is signing for Brighton along with Jordan Rhodes, Alvaro Recoba and Raul. The Amex is the best stadium in the world.
wild-saint Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 did someone not mention recently that we were signing a german , a gk and buttner?
Chorlton Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 They knew the Buttner deal was in trouble, so they are trying to sell us a German left sided player instead. However, it turned out to be an dodgy agent, and the player in question was in actual fact Prutton dressed as Lahm. here all week etc etc
suewhistle Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Hmm, I'd get your coat.... Actually not bad at all.. not quite as funny as the takeover thread, but what could be?
torsaint Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Herr Flick of the Gestapo? Any footballers called Rene or Olga?
Turkish Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Gomez? Ribery? Reus? Huntelaar? Lewandowski? Ozil or Schweinsteiger obviously.
dune Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Sooner or later I do believe we will sign a big name player. IMO we need to do this if we are to raise the profile of the club to where Nicola Cortese wants us to be. We can certainly afford it.

As much as I'd like to believe you, the footballing world just doesn't work in the same way it did when we signed Kevin Keegan. Nowadays, big name players cost an extraordinary amount in wages (in which case, beware because you will **** off the other players not getting that amount). Also, if you can't afford the wages that they deem fit, they would rather warm the bench with their arses for years rather than come and play for you (take almost any Man C player for an example).

This, would be great if we could make a marguee signing of some sort. Obviously, within the confines of wages and squad harmony.

I thought we didn't need to sign big name players and were going to challenge Man City by using our world class academy graduates who are ignoring Man United so they can play for Southampton with their mate?
Stu Man Do Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Don't panic' date=' don't panic! Let me deal with the German agent.[/quote'] Don't give him your name Pike! I wondered if perhaps it was the "third party" in the Buttner transfer?
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Tsk, such a Dell sized mentality. True . But better than ending up in L1 with players on Prem wages that you can't afford to pay and can't get rid of either. Now who would be stupid enough to do that?

georgeweahscousin Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 ....a German football site recently said that we were after Ryan Babel who plays for Hoffenheim.....
Turkish Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 ....a German football site recently said that we were after Ryan Babel who plays for Hoffenheim..... I demand a blog on the subject.

There's the SWF world and then there's the real world.
Danbert Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Why does everyone assume that German football agents necessarily represent German players? It could be Buttner's agent.
Saint Billy Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Why does everyone assume that German football agents necessarily represent German players? It could be Buttner's agent. Or he could be Austrian representing a French player.......who knows
doggface Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 If true more than likely a bundesliga player as I was told Adkins was on a scouting trip just after the fnd of season dinner.
Danbert Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Or he could be Austrian representing a French player.......who knows Not really if he's German as Austria is another country.
dune Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Not really if he's German as Austria is another country. Exactly. As IF an Austrian would ever represent Germans.
NY Saint Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Prutton dressed as Lahm. Marvelous. My first real smile from a Saintsweb post in months. You should write for http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/series/thefiver. Can't find sarcasm icon or I would insert one.
buctootim Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Is this the right thread for the 'name a random player with Hoffenheim connections' game?
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junior_Hoilett Utterly impossible. TDD said so the other day.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Is this the right thread for the 'name a random player with Hoffenheim connections' game? Sejad Salihovic is quality as well...
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Was it William Joyce by any chance? Haw haw . . .
DT Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Just been told by somebody on the inside that there is a German agent (not secret ww2 type) at the stadium as we speak.....not clear yet who he is representing though???? Anybody got any ideas? I have no German stereotypes to offer you but have been reliably informed that there is a huge towel draped over the stadium. They looked at our new kit and thought we were the 'pool... Boom tish etc
Durleyfos Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Exactly. As IF an Austrian would ever represent Germans. It happened once before. Things got a bit heated, as I recall.
rickylambert Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 I heard Nigel has been approached for the national team. Seems the semi's isn't good enough.
scotty Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Was it William Joyce by any chance? I heard he was hanging around the place....
Paul Chuckle Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Owen Hargreaves just been mentioned on twitter... @Football_Juice: Breaking News: Former #MUFC, #MCFC and Bayern Midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, is in talks with Southampton. #PayAsYouPlay Would he have a German agent??
Saint Scott Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 He is indeed according to this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Grill http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/acta7/details/berater_66.html
