This is Claus's worst offence of the lot - getting Lowe back in the press about us.

You can just imagine beetroot-faced bastard rubbing his hands in glee, around the ubiquitos "nothing to do with me, Guv" comment

The guy seems a bit of a car crash these days if we're honest, we won't get any comeback from it, the only comback we get is the unfortunate bad press and all the limelight will be on us on our return for the wrong reasons.

So thanks for that Claus, you complete baffon. Don't want him associated with this club anymore as far as I'm concerned.

I don't believe this and think he is in fantasy land. There was an incident regarding first throw in at West Ham a number of years ago. The bookies then immediately stopped that market. They're not mugs and won't be mugged off like he is suggesting. He is an alcoholic trying to get some booze money from selling a story to the paper.

I'll say it again but more clearly ...

... this all boll@cks!

It's sad but Claus is off his head.

I know the betting business inside out and this is absolute "carp". The bookies aren't daft. They don't offer markets that can be easily be manipulated for not only the obvious profit reasons but also for integrity, licensing and regulatory reasons. Most bookies are professional outfits and many are major plc's. The integrity of the sport they bet on is sacrosanct.

The whole story is absolute nonsense.

I hate to say this but i fear this is just the tip of the iceberg. We remember the Grobelaar stuff back in 94 and that opened a few peoples eyes to what 'could' go on in pro football. What you say about the above games in 2004/5 is what many others were thinking, i remember conversations with people about that villa game in particular and the Everton home game when we surrendered the ball with time almost up leading to a last minute Everton equaliser! I hate to say this this but a display by one of our players in a game last season had all sorts of thoughts going through my mind. I am sure some of you will know who and what game i refer to. I will not go public on here with it though. I have seen stuff happen in other non saints games over the years that raised question marks also. ANY player or ex player found to be guilty of fixing matches or even spot fixing should be banned from football for good and chucked in jail. Lets rid ourselves of the GREEDY BASTARDS!!!

Davis had his house on a clean sheet at Leeds.

Betting industry experts have been quick to point out flaws in Lundekvam’s claims.

Bill Esdaile, of PR firm squareintheair.com who have several leading bookmaking firms among their clients, suggests the type of wagers that Lundekvam alleges he made were simply not available for the bulk of his career.

Now I know why he kept making so many ****s ups, he wasn't drunk as I suspected, or just **** as my pal thought, he was simply cheating.

Glad I turned my nose up at his testimonial. I wish him all the best in his recovery against addiction. Disappointed but not surprised.

This isn't the fault of FIFA, The Sun (who I think got the story from a paper in norway, not sure how they would have paid him), or anybody else. If True (a big if), the only good thing Claus has done in this affair is come clean (provided it wasn't for a pay day). Trying to deflect doesn't justify what is said to have happened.

Anybody involved at the time who took part in the alledged incidents are the ones that should be condemned, if true.

There's an argument to be made to FIFA/UEFA/FA/PL here if they start considering punishing the club.

Claus's f**k ups actually were doing the club harm, rather than the opponents.

As has been said now a couple of times, you have to wonder now about a few incidents during the 2004/05 relegation season...

I assume we can take his word that it was just for the odd throw in. How many times did we seem to let late goals in and get draws not wins etc? It just underlines what contempt the players really have for fans. we pay, and are up for it every game when a percentage of them want their big pay packets and also happy to give a free kick throw-in etc just to get a bit more. Shameful that 2 of our players have held their hands up to this, and we call Pompey cheats

Hardly comparable. What Claus is saying occurred was done for personal financial gain at the detriment of the club's performance on the pitch. Pompey have been cheating for the club's benefit, it led to an FA Cup win and 7 years of top flight football.

The club will not be punished FFS.

No one knew anything about what Claus said was going on! Why would that be, if Claus has been prepared to destroy his reputation to make these claims?

Possibly no one heard bout it because it was going on but between fellow Norwegian, Scandinavian players, at Saints, playing for other clubs in the Premiership at the time. One was an ex policeman whom I can't see getting involved in anything like that. Could it have involved international games and Norwegian players who were playing in the UK?

You HONESTLY believe the club will be punished? Have a think about it.

I think its a possibility.

As we found out a couple of years ago, the Football League (and therefore probably the Premierhsip) view themselves as a membership club where they can set the membership rules and disciplinary rules to fit any given agenda. They are also organisations run by very vain, power-hungry and political individuals. In fact, the Premiership broke their OWN rules when they failed to expel WHam over Tevez.

Lest we forget what has come out today about FIFA. These guys view themselves as being the kings of their particular domains and therefore the law itself.

A Norwegian lower league player has just been arrested for betting on fixed matches, could just be that Pandora's Box is about to be opened up there and Claus thought a timely mea culpa might help.

This story was just mentioned on CNN here in the US, used in the context of the FIFA corruption scandal. Southampton described as "former Premier League side, who were there at the inception of the league". They played his interview, and continued that Benali and Le Tissier had denied any knowledge of it.

Small fry to what Grob was up to then, did he ever fix any Saints matches?

They did "look into" Saints away game v Coventry, we conceded the first goal when BG was stranded on his penalty spot and lobbed, in court they did say that if this match was fixed then no other Saints player knew as we ran out 3-1 winners that day. I remember BG making some good saves during the match as well

All all-edged of course not proved on our match

Most banks are major plcs as well. And we all know they are all a bunch of bankers.

But I tend to agree, its beginning to sound like horse****, just can't work out what Claus thought he would gain from it, he must beseriously off his rocker.
