RedWillie Posted 9 July, 2012 Share Posted 9 July, 2012 My conservatory has about 4 window units that have gone misty and condenstaion inside. They are about 10 years old so past the guarantee. Anyone had experience of getting them repaired. I thought I would just replace them but a mate has told me they are repairable. Anyone had any experience of this. Some of the forums/blogs say it is a bit hit and miss??
Doctoroncall Posted 9 July, 2012 Share Posted 9 July, 2012 I would be interested if repairable. I had a couple go a few years ago and had the replaced. Another gone last year and I'm waiting to replace it.
Jillyanne Posted 9 July, 2012 Share Posted 9 July, 2012 Had the same thing about 8 years ago and only option was to replace glass and roof, I can pass on the number of the guy who did ours if you want a quote, he is a friend of mine who is now self employed but used to work for Posh windows and conservatories. buctootim Posted 9 July, 2012 Share Posted 9 July, 2012 I looked into having units repaired a couple of years ago but the gossip on various web pages was that repairs werent very longlasting. They were oldish units anyway so I upgraded to new ones with half the heat loss for about twice the cost of a repair.

PhilippineSaint Posted 12 July, 2012 Share Posted 12 July, 2012 Do you have house insurance ?? if so get a catapult stand at the end of the garden and break the offending windows. report vandalism to police and receive police form then claim on house insurance for new windows. NB only do this if back of garden accessible to public.
