This Charming Man Posted 9 July, 2012 Author Posted 9 July, 2012 Trainline £22. Don't use Trainline. They charge a booking fee. Use Virgin or East Coast Trains instead.
southamptonbairn Posted 9 July, 2012 Posted 9 July, 2012 Cheap train tickets have just gone on sale for this one. Be quick, they're going fast. Cheers for the info . Virgin are normally 2 weeks behind East Coast advance tickets going on sale and I'm glad I saw your post. I managed to get TWO yes TWO returns Glasgow to Kirkdale for under £30. Its on google that Goodison is a 15min walk from Kirkdale Station. Now fingers crossed I manage to get tickets for the away end ?
This Charming Man Posted 9 July, 2012 Author Posted 9 July, 2012 You'll get a ticket no problems mate. We haven't sold out up there in decades.
View From The Top Posted 9 July, 2012 Posted 9 July, 2012 Got my nippers & my return for £13 for the pair.
saints_is_the_south Posted 9 July, 2012 Posted 9 July, 2012 Booked 4 returns from London Euston to Liverpool today, £24 each. On the 08.07, gets up there about 10.15 I think. Very much looking forward to this one, Goodison Park is one of the few non-modern stadiums left although I've heard the view from the away section is not great depending on where abouts you are. Never been to the city of Liverpool before either personally, and already looked up some top looking boozers online. In fact I found this pub crawl whilst having a browse around - http://www.roscoehead.co.uk/georgianpub.htm - May give it a go!

BlakeySFC Posted 9 July, 2012 Posted 9 July, 2012 Absolutely mad for this one, always wanted to go to Everton.

Liverpool is a fantastic city and Goodison is one of the best grounds in the country, IMO. The view is alright as long as you're not shoved at the back of the lower tier. Every time I've been we've barely had around 1000 there, so it's been pretty much stand where you want. Imagine we'll have a few more than that this time seeing as it's been a while.

For an awful lot of fans, say under 24(ish) these are all new grounds so I would imagine our away following will go up quite a bit compared to the last time we were up there.
tartan_saint Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 2 returns booked from So'ton Central to L'pool Lime St for £74. Excellent deal!
fish fingers Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Found £37 return from Bournemouth to Lime Street. Not bad at all.
stevegrant Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Found £37 return from Bournemouth to Lime Street. Not bad at all. Leaving at 4am, returning at 2am?
RonManager Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 (edited) Last time I went to Goodison we lost 8-0, the minibus windscreen got smashed so we drove as far as Stoke in the freezing cold to change buses courtesy of Port Vale FC. Got back to Winch then walked 4 miles home in the ****ing rain, got in about 5am, played football the following morning and ended up with flu. Happy days. Edited 10 July, 2012 by RonManager

saints_is_the_south Posted 10 July, 2012 Posted 10 July, 2012 Everton have announced their match ticket pricing structure for next season. We'll come under category D and therefore prices should be as follows: Paddock (front of Lower Tier) - £35, Lower Bullens (Back of Lower Tier) - £32 & Upper Bullens (Top Tier) - £37.
This Charming Man Posted 13 July, 2012 Author Posted 13 July, 2012 Do they have barcode scanners at Goodison these days?
Griffo Posted 13 July, 2012 Posted 13 July, 2012 Do they have barcode scanners at Goodison these days? Exactly what I want to know.
stkev7 Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Agreed with many posts, superb old fashioned ground. Only been the once and on that day we had Blackstock and Best up front with about 700 of us there. Leon Osman is a little sh*t!
Dan Posted 15 July, 2012 Posted 15 July, 2012 Do they have barcode scanners at Goodison these days? Yes.
ericofarabia Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 Not one of my luckier grounds - 3 visits with 3-0, 4-1 and 2-0 defeats!! Did see the Kevin Davis wonder goal match in a Pub here in Dubai though.

If so, that was my last visit there as well.
Griffo Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 Was that when we lost to a last minute goal, was on Sky? If so, that was my last visit there as well. I remember Beattie possibly scoring a lob and then some foreign sounding Everton player scoring late on? Radzinski?
fish fingers Posted 16 July, 2012 Posted 16 July, 2012 Good news that they have barcode scanners, any ideas if they'll be serving Saints Ale?
This Charming Man Posted 16 July, 2012 Author Posted 16 July, 2012 I remember Beattie possibly scoring a lob and then some foreign sounding Everton player scoring late on? Radzinski? Don't remember that game but my last visit there was 2004. Best and Blackstock upfront and we lost 1-0 to a last minute winner. We have a terrible record up there.

Griffo Posted 30 July, 2012 Posted 30 July, 2012 I remember Beattie possibly scoring a lob and then some foreign sounding Everton player scoring late on? Radzinski? This is the one.

View From The Top Posted 1 August, 2012 Posted 1 August, 2012 I've done Everton plenty of times & I can only recall seeing us win once.
Joe Kirkup Posted 3 August, 2012 Posted 3 August, 2012 Tied it in with seeing one of my heroes Ian McNabb playing on the sunday on a ferry on the Mersey, should be a great weekend.
