Season ticket sales

5 days ago someone totted them up and it looked like this...

Since then people have recounted and said it has been around the 22k mark.

Kraken, you were even posting at the time this was raised earlier in the thread!

I've been on the website to look for an update of that tweet but couldn't see one.

As I (and others) commented at the time, we'll have to see just how accurate that list is. Block 3 is showing as sold out completely but I'm pretty sure others said it was just unavailable. Potentially blocks 6 and 7 too.

Quite where the 17K figure comes from is a mystery, and I'd suggest a mistake. I've clearly missed the 22K mark posts that others have said.

I think my prediction was that it would be around 24K - 25K. I know the club have previously not released ST levels before at time of sale (I think in the marketing brochure just out that's the first time under this administration). So we may have to speculate about what the final figure is.

If you login to the ticketing website, then start the process of buying a season ticket you will get a stadium plan and you can go round the stadium block by block adding up all those seats sold. That is where people are getting the numbers from. No need to "speculate about what the final figure is".

Well there is. For the reasons I listed. Unless you can guarantee that block 3 is indeed fully sold out with sales of season tickets?

The chances of me doing that are about the same as me pushing a kebab skewer up my Jap's eye. So for you people that have done it, are the unavailable seats marked as "sold" or just "unavailable". Perfectly possible that the club aren't just selling every single block if they don't need to. If someone at the ticket office is saying 17,000 that might be a better guide than people totting things up on a ticket website designed to sell tickets, not track ticket sales.

The 17k figure came from a ticket office salesman, admittidely he was looking less than enthusiastic about his job but that is what he told me (unless he thought i had asked about sales for the Leibherr cup today?).

Interesting no one bothered to answer this question.

Does the website say those seats are "sold" or just unavailable? Being that people seem to have spent hours on totting things up, surely soneone can answer it?

It just says which ones are available and then the others are greyed out.

  • 2 weeks later...

I checked figures on line yesterday and showed 21,853 reserved, 6,235 still available, but as others have said how many actually sold not sure but gives you a reasonable idea for most areas.

Yesterday the following seats reserved /remaining in the different stands

Northam (Blocks 40 - 42) 2207 / 195

Kingsland (Blocks 28 - 39) 7721 / 1219

Family Centre Blocks 20- 27) 3114 / 743

Chapel (Blocks 12-20) 2412 / 2840

Itchen (Blocks 1-11) 6399 / 1238

Disappointing if we don't sell out.

Agreed. I was expecting at least as many sold as when we were previously in the Premier League. It seems we may not even achieve that figure, which is very disappointing given the apparent never-seen-before feelgood factor and potential of the club.

Still, a bit of time to go yet so we'll see.

Agreed re timing. People away or about to go on holiday (at some cost), others delaying until the July credit card bill is out of the way, the influence of the final few new signings and the increasingly imminent first league game will all have a bearing.

plus itchen block 3 hasn't sold out, they just haven't put them on sale, so that corner is looking a bit sparse that will be bolstered on match days by club comp tickets, for some reason the club always ruin the potential of that corner for atmosphere.

I guess they've done that so there's less risk of trouble in that corner. I hope it's still decent in 1 and 2 because I can't move my season ticket if it isn't!

The figures for block 3 are misleading as several of us who were in block 4 have renewed in block 3 so not sure how many have done that.

Why it doesnt show i do not know.

My comps were in Block 7 last season, which this is the 'Premium' priced block. It makes sense for the nil-income tickets to not be taking up expensive seats that can then be resold. Block 3 was probably the only area in the main stand that could accommodate a large number of comps in one block, whilst not plonking them right next to the away fans in Block 1 or 2.

My block 7 seats were in a great position, but I'm glad to be back in the Itchen North corner :)

Those figures are well out of date, but still low sales in Blocks 1/2, 4, 11,12 and 13 Itchen and most of Chapel, not too many left in Family Centre approx 750, Kingsland approx 1220 or Northam less than 200

Why haven't all our new fans from Dorset, Cornwall, Somerset, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Warwickshire, Cheshire, France and Japan snapped them all up yet?

Because many of them won't manifest themselves until after the season starts, when they actually notice we're in the Premier League. By the way, you forgot South Wales, which is how I became a Saints fan - though I suspect had the set of circumstances from 1989-91 which led to me coming here manifested themselves today, I'd be a Swansea City ST holder instead. So that particular boundary has shifted eastwards a bit. Plus Reading are hoovering up Berkshire and the M4 corridor at the moment which squeezes us southwards.

Still, with a £7 BILLION Prem TV deal starting in 2013 and £60m just for coming 20th, if we stay up this season we won't need any fans next year anyway.

We've still got everything below the M4 and of course Reading dont have a new training ground or an academy as good as ours so we should be able to make a big dent in their M4 catchement area too. I'm still confident that most of Warwickshire, Gloucs and Worcs will be Saints fans come the end of the transfer window.

Indeed crackers, last time we were in the premier league we never had the money and investment we had now, dont forget we sold out against Bolton in 2004. We should expect to smash any existing season ticket holder records this season. Chelsea only used to get 13,000 in 1984 before they had money and look at the crowds they get now.

How many season tickets have Everton sold?

According to this facebook page:

They had almost 20,000 in early bird sales by late April.

This cant be true.......

Wont our equvilent Everton mong board have a seating plan or a thread which lists all the tickets sold in blocks around the stadium which we can count it up?

I'm sure they may do, but if its as accurate as our one then its equally worthless. In any case I'm sure there some information out there that we don't know about which will clearly have an effect and make a comparison impossible.

To be fair, for some wierd, unexplained reason, that (well out of date, it was that 3 weeks ago) figure of 88 sold is for block 1 only. Block 2 does not appear on the stadium plan online. We had to get ours over the phone. No many left in the back 10 rows of block 2 as of yesterday when another mate tried to get a seat near us.

Does this mean we don't need a 55,000 seater stadium?

No it means we need a bigger staidum. A lot of people wont have bothered buying on because they think they wont be able to get one due to our limited capacity.

Evesham United might have something to say about that.

I'm waiting for the flexible price of season tickets to go down before I buy mine. Its a gamble but I think I'll be proved right.
