Draino76 Posted 8 July, 2012 Share Posted 8 July, 2012 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4408610/Premier-League-team-guide-to-pre-season-friendlies.html Just looking how the other teams are preparing for the upcoming season and I can't help but feel we have got it about right compared to the rest. The champions league club contenders for example are prostituting themselves by making gruelling trips over in the US, China and South Africa while we only take a short hop over to continental Europe. Aston Villa believing that away matches to Peterborough, Forest and Wolves will get them up to speed for the start of the Prem? QPR final warm-up game against the mighty Aldershot? As for Wigan; WTF? Wigan are only playing two friendly games against Southport and Bury, then open their prem campaign against the champions league winners, Chelsea. Well done team Saints, I think we are already starting to make our new premiership rivals look like amateurs.
CB Fry Posted 8 July, 2012 Share Posted 8 July, 2012 You seriously think that QPR's final warm up game is three weeks before the season starts?
Doctoroncall Posted 8 July, 2012 Share Posted 8 July, 2012 Aston Villa are playing three games in the US where the football season is still on before the friendlies back in England. A good test against season fit opposition before coming back home and matches close at home.
