There's a post on Ugly Inside that we've bid £3m for K Schmeichal

Kaspar Schmeichel would be a great signing, but can't see it happening myself.

He's probably on a small fortune (£45K+) a week at Leicester so can't see him moving to us for £25K+ a week myself.

If we can't better f/cking Leicester then there's a problem. I can't see there being any obstacles if we want him and he wants to come to us.

There is no way Leicester are paying him that, their highest paid player is Beckford who earns 35k p/w

I find it hard to take anything from 'The Ugly Inside' seriously when they cannot spell even the most basic of words. But if it's Turkish that's fine, I expect to see him unveiled on Monday along with Buttner.

Who? Turkish? I'll look forward to that!! ;)

Shouldn't be surprised but what a fcking ignorant comment. Leicester have clearly dished out massive wages recently and there's little chance Saints would make him the top earner at the club. He might not even be no1 here. Just because you can pay a certain wage doesn't mean you should. Wonder how many other clubs resident idiots have been saying 'surely be can offer more than portsmouth' etc.

Thank fck we don't have anyone this daft running our club.

It's hardly a daft comment. We are an EPL club owned by a family of billionaires. i think you are deluded if you think we won't lord it over them if we want to.

You don't have a clue what wages the club are offering. No reason why we wouldn't match or better Leicester.

This I doubt, as if it is true Leicester would have kicked up an almighty fuss with respect to the FFP in championship. He will be on 20k/25k tops. You forget. we were the richest boys in that league and now we are premier.

I thought Leicester were Silly rich? They must've spent close to £12-£15million last season, is that all borrowed?

You're right of course, he doesn't know, but one would assume that adrian is using his common sense to realise that Saints aren't going to pay 45k a week (or whatever he's on at Leicester) for K. Schmeichal.

I just don't get the fuss over schmiechel. Would much rather have Craig Gordon than him.

I'm sure the hype is just because his dad was brilliant.

I'm amazed he and Alan Mcgregor haven't been snapped up yet.

Cortese could be doing so much better FFS.

To be blunt, football isn't just about what happens on the pitch. In truth the advertising boards and corporate areas have never been so empty. To be blunt it seems no local business want to deal with us, in truth this is only Going to be damaging movig forward.

Maybe they cant afford to. The advertising at SMS wasn't exactly cheap in the championship, christ knows what it'll cost in the prem. And surely the advertisers forking out the big bucks will be doing so because of the television exposure?

I remember reading some posts with nick and stuey going on one about the adverts.

I went to the game that weekend and really could not find any blank advert spaces

how sad is that

also, my mates missus is high up in a company called Checkatrade (sp..?)

they were looking at being our shirt sponsors and for a 3 year deal it was going to be around £300k PA in the NPC and should saints get to the prem, then that would be re-negotiated and the starting at £1m PA. (with a get out clause)

they decided against it and now they sponsor programmes on channel 5.

not cheap eh...

no doubt, people would have kicked off with NC if we had the name "checkatrade" on our shirts....

That they were moaning about it or that you checked how full they were?

agreed. He had a fine game against us at their place but in other games he's looked average to me. There's better out there for me. Gordon being one of them. A Sunderland keeper that has lost his way a bit...rings a bell that.

Gordon being one of them.

There was a time when I'd of given my left nut to sign a Gordons. Thing is tho, how much of a cripple must he be not to be fit enough to play in ****ing goal? My Sunday team we put people in goal if they rock up with a broken leg, massive hangover and on one occasion wacked up on acid! He had a stormer actually.

You used a program which showed Peter listed as playing for "evidence" that Kasper was at the game. The program proves no such thing. Kasper may well of been at the game and you could be right. However your choice of evidence was poor.

I would love to see Jason Steele as well. The trouble is that as he has more experience, than Butland and is also in- The Olympic squad,[if Birmingham want over 6 million for Butland],how much would Boro want for Steele, that is assuming that they want to sell him any way.

I did say that it was a rumour and no substance yet. It would tie in with what i was told earlier this week by a customer who is Leicester fan and his company are minor sponsors of them.

A Leicester mate of mine bumped into KS on Saturday night whilst on the lash in Leicester and he said he wasn't going anywhere and there had been no bids for him. Though I doubt he's going to divulge transfer information to some randomer on a night out.

That's what Dean Richards (RIP) said to me in the Rhino a few days before he joined Spurs.

My bad!

Mate, you're doing it all wrong. The correct SaintsWeb response is to start flinging personal insults about the place. We'll have none of your honest humility here :D

(note to usual suspects: this is how it's done!)
