I'd imagine Alan Shearer will be quite nice about us on Match of the Day as well.

I remember him covering one of TV games last season and he couldn't of looked less interested hadn't even bothered to find out the players names...he is toon through and through. I'm sure he wil just join in with the rest of them on MOTD to bash/patronize the little club.

Read it in the paper earlier. Hopefully it'll do something to address the wailing and gnashing of teeth about BBC/Sky's media bias towards Saints. I somehow doubt it though.

Would appear not. People are already going off on one and we haven't even been on MOTD yet...

I remember him covering one of the TV games last season when he described his move to Southampton as "the best decision of my life" and said what a great club we are. Probably the first time I've ever been pleased to hear Shearer say anything.

Hardly wailing and gnasing my teeth... but I don't every remember Saints getting much in the way of postive comments from MOTD pundits last time we were in the big boys league. Doesn't bother me overly they are they to wax lyrical about the big clubs not clubs like saints. They're is no media conspricy we just aren't very interesting to the neutral football fans.

That's because we were sh*t for the vast majority of our time in the Premiership.

Everyone seems to think pundits have it in for their club, get over yourself.

Its nice to know that the Beeb and Sky are favorable to our great club.

Claridge has praised us more than most since the FLS has been on air.

Agreed, I think Claridge is a really good panellist.

I'm quite looking forward to GNev's analysis of us next season. He's properly detailed, thoughful and when necessary criticial of all sides even including Man Utd.

Two footballers that I could not stand was Claridge and Collymore, but today they do a great job on telly/radio and I find their views pretty interesting.

Can't say the same about Townsend, Hansen, Lawrence & Hoddle.

admittedly claridge is better than some, and the fls is utter ****e, he us just another u didn't like about. he is not as bad as maniche tho, or the woman on the texts, or the reporter who looks like brian from ideal.

but I dont like Neville either, he is surprisingly good but he's greasy, lives in an ecodome, and is a "busy little ****", or so ive heard.

I am looking forward to Chamberlain over reacting tho, and sky's Saturday score thing should be great viewing this year ;-)

Too true, Lawrences who hates us anyway, has always got a face like he has just found a tuxd in his wallet.

Met him a couple of times in Ukraine and actually seemed a decent bloke. My mate was a Leicester fan and he sat down with him for quite a while chatting about his Leicester days. Even left me to look after his phone whilst he went off and did an interview. Really should've Facebook raped him...

Claridge is on a par with Lawrenson for depressing and out of date comments. Baffled anyone thinks he's any good. The people in this thread must the the only I've known who seem to like him. Yes he says some nice things about us on the FLS but anyone who has listened to him on 5 live will know the guy is a grade A wally.

just at least Mr claridge will have less of a say, shame he's still on 5 live tho.

He's one of the most sensible pundits and is a good co-commentator on the radio for 5 live games too. And was quite complimentary to Saints last season if that sort of thing is of any real importance anyway.

Yep I cannot fathom the animosity towards Claridge. He might be a touch pikey and have played for them, but his analysis is 90% spot on. He's been critical when we've deerved it and complimentary when we've deserved it.

Perhaps it's the legacy of Lowe's catering that has left so many chips on Saints fans' shoulders...

I listen to him on five live and think he's good. And very complimentary about Saints for the last two years.

To be fair he's not grade A.

Yep, Neville's ability as a pundit has come as a shock to everyone.

Totally agree, best pundit for a long while. I think he proves the point that it's not rocket science analysing a game with technology and therefore why are those muppets on mod so awfull at it. Hope Ed Chamberlain

plays a saints song when we score just as Jeff Stelling does when Hartlipool do, which ain't often.
